85k5witha6.2 submitted a new Build:

linked one ton escalade (bought another Jeep JK)

Hope this is ok to post here, i like this forum a lot more than pirate. If you don't know my previous k5 its the one with the ugly front end that had a 4bt.

still planning on sticking a 5.3 in it sometime this winter(i already have a donor pickup..or 4), but for now it sits outside with no drivetrain.

So that brings us to the escalade, i bought a 2006 escalade on copart cheap with the intentions of parting it out and keeping the lq9 for a project later, well my dad jokingly said why not just stick the blazer axles under it, and that got me thinking. I didn't want to use the blazer axles but one tons would make it fun.

so thats the plan now
3 linked High pinion dana 60 front with an artec truss
4 linked dana 70S rear with a homemade truss
241/205 doubler- maybe
2.5 x 16 king coilovers
1.25 heims
rock sliders and exocage
41.5 pitbull rockers

obviously buying it on copart it had damage, the door will be easy to replace and ive already started removing the quarter and looking for a new one...even though its eventually gonna get bashed into rocks (or trees if i follow Greg again). other than that the interior is perfect and the rest of the body is completely perfect. for now.

So i got very lucky that my uncle had a 79 high pinion king pin dana 60 still sitting on the pallet from getting rebuilt... 20 years ago. I got it very cheap and then ordered and artec truss and some link brackets.

i then found a pretty good deal on a set of 16 inch travel king coilovers, and the best part, they are black.

then bought some 1.25 heims and the tubing for the links

2.25" 3/8s wall for all the front links and the bottoms in the rear, and 2" 1/4 wall for the rear uppers. im hoping thats going to be plenty strong, i might even end up using 2.25 for all of it.

I love where this is going!

I'm getting tired of how beat my blazer is... And lack of nice leather interior and AC... This makes me want to find a newer leather vehicle to put all my running gear under it... I have been thinking about finding a high mileage tahoe or something... Would really love to have another duramax for this too....

You don't have to give an exact price, but how much does something like that generally go for?

usually the 2-2500 range for an escalade, but for some reason i got this for $1400 after the fees and everything, stuff went cheap the week i bought this. you can get tahoes and burbs for under a grand pretty often, usually they are completely fine drivetrain wise and just need cosmetic or fronts suspension, which doesnt matter for something you are gonna SAS. copart.com is where i buy a lot of vehicles from. just make sure you pay attention to how much the fees are too

Build thread and pics or it didn't happen
of the van? the whole build thread is on my facebook in an album, Dan Dietz.

Its really nothing special, cam, nitrous, e85. ran 12.20@110, hoping for mid 11s next year after some more adjustments. It dynod 450 on a 100 shot through a 4l80 and dana 70 on a mustang dyno, currently spraying 200.

Its definitly faster than a bolt on coyote mustang on the street too. ;)

I'm going to look them up. I would like to find something i could just roll my whole frame under since i have already boxed the whole thing and made all my cross members and know exactly how strong it is...

Also i'm trying to figure out that website. how do you find out what the fees are?

I found a flood tahoe like i want and i am ready to spend money lol

you need an account, which is free if you are just wanting to bid on 1 item at a time, and then I'm not sure where the fees page actually is, I usually just have to google it, it's usually around 2-400.
