linked one ton escalade (coming back soon)

Honestly for my driving style I prefer the 80e over the 60e. I like that 5800 rpm shifting and the 80es higher first is a much less rpm drop over the 60e on the 1-2 upshift. Easier for me to tear stuff up like that.

Yeah I just like holding it too the floor until I stop... and the 4l65 probably won’t like the turbo...

Got the middle skid plate done, very glad I spent the time putting holes and welding nuts on the inside of the frame. Still need to get one under the gas tanks. Not looking forward to laying underneath and drilling holes though lol. It’s only 1/4 inch AR plate, but I got it at work free :D

Actually, I’m going to narrow the frame and remove the middle seat out of the rear so it will still hold 2 people and look factory. Eventually. Lol

Hopefully going to wheel it the weekend of the 23rd if I’m not working.

Awww man losing the middle seat is a killer. Cage that thing and retain the stock heated seats and middle folder upper. Toss some storage bins or whatever in the back and fold middles down to access or tailgate.

I would keep rear ac if it had it. That thing is the epitome of driver wheeler with a mechanical steering setup. Nice radio, seats, interior, exterior, power, totally nice setup. But I have kids as well. 80es with the doubler and it would be 100% ready to rock and roll. And of June? What about July 4? Mine should be done by then.

The rear seat is a bench seat that holds 3 people, I’m just narrowing it to fit two people.

Honestly the odds of me ever having more than 4 people in it are very slim, and the spare will most likely be in their headroom anyway I’ll probanly have some storage setup for spare parts and tools.

Anyone have a good list of tools and spare parts to bring? Should probably ask some UA guys.

I was thinking about putting a camera up front under the bumper connected to the rear screens so the people in the backseat could see. Too much? Lol

A Facebook friend(who is on here but I can’t renember his username) made his front driveshaft out of a Dana 60 axleshaft, so that’s the plan when I get the doubler done, just cut the shaft off a 30 spline stub shaft and it fits into the flange he had made.

These are his pictures not mine.

So apparently other people can add a tag to your build thread?:haha:other than me and whoever added it, no one probably even understands it.:haha:but I just noticed it.

On ballistic fabs website they have a 86-91 Ford 60 axle truss for $250, with the options of a ram mount for $70 extra and their diff cover for $160 extra. But if you put both options it drops down to $330, then it’s out of stock currently, so 10% off, then they have a 10% off coupon currently. So it was like $270 plus shipping.

I definitely don’t need it, but since I have 1 of those axles laying around I thought might as well, the female friend didn’t agree with that logic though but ehh.

It will still be gutless with the baby cat and probably not rated to tow much with how much it will already weigh. Everyone at work thinks our F550s can tow lots more cuz they are bigger but most of them can tow less than a one ton cuz they need to be specd just right and they all weigh more to start with.

The 3126 is a small one? I know nothing about the Cat engines. I thought the straight 6 was better than the 3208 or whatever the v8 was. 26k gvwr, probably be around that with the Escalade in tow. But I’m never in a hurry.
