linked one ton escalade (coming back soon)

I just really want to stick one of these 3.9/allison combos in something, but my daily driver probably shouldn’t be a candidate...

Applied for a new job, it’s 4 days on 4 days off, which would be really awesome since yesterday my dad ordered a 5x10 plasma table. When the table gets there I have plans to design a new front shock mount setup after hanging out at the flop shop here in Colorado. :D

Get rid of those stock rubicon axles or at least get alloy shafts. My dad has had 2 LJ's. They are sweet but he broke front shafts constantly with just 33" tires and normal wheeling. He sold them both off and built a JK with dynatracs and an LS. I personally like the LJ size but I think the best way to go is get a non rubicon and then build it right. The rubicon costs more and the axles really need swapped for wheeling. For a DD on stockish height tires they are just fine. The 4.0 is great, always liked that motor, I have had several go past 200K without issue.

I would guess this was probably one of the cheapest 1 owner LJ Rubicons for sale at the time, couldn’t find a non rubicon this cheap. And for a daily driver the stock axles will be fine. Have the JK rubicon for wheeling anyway.

Selling the JK this weekend for a lot more than I paid for the LJ (which is backwards of how that should’ve gone) they’re both paid for and if I put another $2400 on my credit card before next month I get $300 in rewards... time for more shocks in the front? I’m going to tell myself it’s the exact same as saving $300 because we will use the points on hotels I’m sure.

Obviously the cage isn’t done, and the doubler/transmission swap isn’t done, and the turbo isn’t installed yet. So let’s add more to that list. Put a steering box back on, run double belcrank steering with the double ended ram and then throw bypasses on the front too?

These are some pictures I found for ideas. Obviously finding the right spot for no bump steer will be time consuming but I think just working from the axle back would be easiest. And the last picture is someone running a double ended ram as hydro assis with a gear box.

Obviously the cage isn’t done, and the doubler/transmission swap isn’t done, and the turbo isn’t installed yet Or the sway bars or battery mounts or rock lights or skid plates or trans/steering coolers or rear winch or tire carrier project or adding spare parts storage or.... . So let’s add more to that list. Put a steering box back on, run double belcrank steering with the double ended ram and then throw bypasses on the front too?

Uhh might be time to sell the LJ and build a 2016 4 door... final verdict coming later when the fiancé wakes up. Unless she kills me before I update you guys.
