So why not just run a complete shaft and get rid of the carrier bearing ?
The way it is right now it pivots at the same spot as the links, so it needs hardy any slip, and it's less likely to hit rocks being shorter.

So, done yet?
I don't know if I'm going to make it to Tuttle now, I got invited to a rock race type thing that weekend out in Denver, either way I don't think I'll be able to have it done, especially if I keep up 14 hour days at work. Money for parts will be there at least lol.Yeah sure whatever. If your scared, you can just say that. I mean, Corey did put a 5.3 in his jeep so I understand if you are intimidated.

Got your heater hoses in check?
Found a used atlas that comes with a brand new 27 spline input to swap into it, only a 2 speed, 1410 yokes and comes with a new cable shifter. Should I probably upgrade axleshafts before tcase though? It should I get it running before all that. Lol
I support build it right the first time. That being said I also support using a vehicle rather than building it for years. If you have the cash to buy the atlas and get the rig running in a decent time frame. Do it. If not, just get the thing out on the trail.
No, but I have an idea and I need help.
6X6 ESCALADE HAULING ESCALADE.
Ok now I have your attention.
Tandam axle 14 bolts. How do I do this. Can I run a second transfercase backwards? And offset the pumpkin of the front 14 bolt and then run the other driveshaft over the front axle tube to the rear axle?
I have a spare escalade body I could make into a crew cab, and then I have several breadvan chassises with 14 bolts and a duramax donor truck, I don't see what could go wrong. Probably put a superduty 60 up front?

You are about to jump the shark in a big way...... think this through carefully.
Ian at Extreme did a stupid 6-wheel Apocalypse vehicle out of a Suburban. As soon as he put the extra axle under the back he lost me... and probably 1/2 of his audience.
You mentioned that you wanted to sell this thing someday once it was complete. The market is already insanely small for a beefy 4X4 Escalade.... you make it into a 6x6 and you'll never find a buyer.
