linked one ton escalade (coming back soon)

I have the files and a plasma table and could easily cut them out and weld them on, but eventually I’d like to drive this on long trips and don’t really want the welded on stuff.

Ok, got them weighed, Dana 80 housing with 4” OD 1/2” wall tubes vs Chevy Dana 60 kingpin.

60 still has the pinion and yoke in it obviously, because I’m lazy.

05+ stock inner C’s are a few pounds heavier than these on the 80.

I have a stock 05+ housing I’ll weigh soon to compare.

Edit: these scales are $40 on Amazon. Pretty cool.

I saw something on Facebook that gave me an idea for the rear sway bar and bumpstop mount.

this would use an 05+ superduty unit bearing mounted on each frame rail. Each arm would be cut out on the plasma table and I’d probably make them boxed about 2 inches thick. They would bolt on with the 8x170 pattern, the sway bar would slide though and then I’d either have to have drive pucks made to whatever spline/ size the sway bar is, or have a sway bar made that’s 35 spline on the ends and turned down to what size I need for the sway bar in the center.

the tab sticking off the back of the frame rail mounting piece is where the bumpstops would be located(Roughly), it would hit on the top tab of the sway bar arm. I’ve always wanted to try a setup like this because then the bumpstop hits the same spot on full bump or full articulation.

So far just an idea, need to do more research on the sway bar itself.

Neat idea but sounds like a lot of weight. Super duty unit bearings themselves ain't light nor all that other stuff you wanna add to them.

i was already planning on building beefy rear sway bar arms. And I’m also going to be adding about 15 gallons to the fuel tank capacity. Trying to get more weight in the rear for jumping :D

but you’re right. I should probably try to be a little smarter about what weight I’m adding.
