I will be changing the wheels and tires, while they actually look ok on here, i am not a fan of 20's, i have a set of white steelies and a brand new set of 33x12.50z15's that will be going on it. the guy i got the truck from said he put about 500 miles on the wheels and tires and paid over $2K for them. Selling them will give me some extra coin to put back into the truck.

been driving it around a bit, just into town here and there, really liking it.

yesterday I dug into storage for my brand new 33x12.50x15" tires and a set of wheels I had in there, unfortunately the wheels are 16". so I found some pro comp 51 series black steel wheels on flea-bay for $55 a wheel.

Yesterday after work I went to one of the department of licensing authorized agents to get the plates for the truck, getting collector plates since it wont be a daily driver, and so I never have to pay for plates again. of course I get great grandma who takes foooorrrreeeevvvvveeerrrrr, I was there 45 minutes arguing about vehicle value (she was trying to tax me for $40,000) and them telling me it has to be show quality (which it doesn't), while the other lady helped 4 people then had to come over and help this lady. We finally get to the end and almost $200, pull my debit card out "oh we dont take card, only cash or check" are you kidding me? the other lady says they have been waiting for 2.5 years for their card reader, great grandma looks at me "cant you just write a check?" of course it was also 5 minutes after they closed, so I have to go get cash today and try it again.

I am not a huge technology guy, but who still carries a check book?

I was going to say the same about who carries a check book lol, cool rig has potential

Looking forward to see what you do. I agree cool truck! Not many stepsides around any more.

got it titled, good thing I went back Friday because the the lady Thursday was trying to change the GVW of the truck and charge me more money, ended up at $150 vs $200

I cant remember ever having a GM that had the wobbly steering wheel before but this one does, the fix is usually to tear down the top of the column and tighten the 2-3 bolts that can be reached without having to tear too much down.

well that's not my problem

as you can see the ball bearings are coming out of the outer race and a couple actually did fall out. so i ordered a rebuild kit to go ahead and replace the lower and upper bearing in the housing.

just ordered new door seals, window channel felt, and anti-rattle felt (whatever you wanna call them) from amazon, we will see what kind of quality it is.

who knew getting tires mounted would be such a pain in the a**, i bought one of those cheap tire changers from harbor freight, works great on small tires, not so much on larger tires. I dont like the owner of the les schwabs tire here in town and its the only tire shop so i load the new tires and wheels up and take then 3 towns over to wal-mart (not ideal either), they tell me some B.S. story about how the 12.50 wide tires are too wide and their machine doesnt have enough PSI to mount them. Of course that was yesterday and every other tire shop is closed on Sunday.

today i call one of the small mom and pop tire shops in a surrounding town,

me- i have new tires and wheels, how much do you charge to mount and balance?
her- $15 each, do you want them balanced?
me_ yes (i asked for mount AND balance)
her- oh thats another $15.50, are these car or light truck tires
me- their light truck tires, 33x12.50x15
her- oh that changed things, would we be doing all 4?
me- yes all 4
her- oh that changes things, give me a second
me- ok
her thats gonna be $300 plus tax
me- are you f**king kidding me, no thanks
her- ya sorry

called les schwabs in the same town as wal-mart (since its not owned by the guy who owns my local one) they want $152 and thats without valve stems because i have new ones in the new wheels. i know labor is more expensive than it was 7 years ago, but 7 years ago it was $20 per tire/wheel

that does seem excessive

Not a fan of Les Schwab either...it's the most expensive tire shop in town, and they are use to dealing (and treating people) like morons, not car guys.
