Lock-right, Detroit, power Lok

Drive shaft turned, not tires!

[/ QUOTE ] I had this happen with a Detroit Locker install that was screwed up by a shop. They didn't use the factory retainer to hold it together, so they had to reassemble the locker after it came apart. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif There's a steel cam ring in the center of it that determines when it should lock and unlock. These idiots had installed that ring incorrectly so it would unlock both side gears under power. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Once that was corrected everything was good. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

It's pretty hard to compare a Lock-right in a 10-bolt or Dana 44 and one in a Dana 60 since there is a pretty big size difference. The Lock-rights are limited in strength as to how big it can be and still fit inside the factory, and obviously the Dana 60 is much bigger. It's kind of the same as saying you broke a Spicer front axle u-joint so you shouldn't use a Spicer u-joint on a Dana 60.......

It was installed properly, did several myself. Something was wrong from the factory. It did take a while but they did take care of the situation.
