Locker vs. spool vs. welded

Detroit or Grizzly. I've been happy with both in my 14 bolts I've got right meow.

Im not a fan of welded diffs, been there done that. It works, just not my first choice.

Kill it with fire! The only time I noticed the welded diff in mine was as the gas station.. Concrete and tsl tires really talk, they also make you the center of attention. Otherwise I really appreciated the locked up feeling on deceleration. Unless you run selectable locked the others lock moving fwd not in reverse..

No way I would run a spool or welded in the rear again

+1 on the Detroit being the best bang for the buck on a 14FF

Mine stopped working 370 days later after I bought it.....no more warranty! So I Tig welded spots around the ratchet gears of the Detroit and its worked great ever since!. Run a spooled Dana 60 in the front as well w/ no issues.....

So it is always locked now?

So, what did it stop doing?

1 axle? both axles? Just curious, dont see how one suddenly couldnt work without being broken.

Just the 14 bolt, can't remember which shaft but one wasn't spinning any more....and was conformed when a burnout was done. Your axle can still be drivable it was just ratcheting and not locking back into the main body. So I welded both outer ratchets to the main body of the carrier.....and then we had :burnout: again! :waytogo:

Spools and welded lockers are always predictable and when they break they don't half ass it..just saying
