Look what I found while searching for 1 tons

To swap the 700R4/NP208 into the M1028 you would need a 6.2 TV cable bracket and a diesel torque converter. You will probably have to change the flexplate. I think the 700R4 uses the small patern.

To swap the TH400/NP205 into your blazer, you would need a gas torque converter, a gas modulator gear and the kick down switch off of the accelerator pedal of the M1028. Some gas flexplates have dual patern flexplates. If yours only has the small one you will have to switch to a large patern flex plate.

The diesel torque converter will work, same stall speed. I put a M1028 th400 in place of a 700r4. Was only able to pick up 3 of the six bolts on the converter but it worked and functioned just fine.

I've decided not to put a tag on it right now, but as soon as I get a chance swap the axles and spray it solid OD green, for now the 205 can stay in it. Maybe replace the busted grille and I'll have to find some 6 lug wheels and cheap 35's since I sold the wheels and tires off my k5...didn't plan on finding a whole running truck with 1 tons or I'd have kept them. Then just keep it for awhile at least, unless I get an offer I can't refuse. My mind changes a lot and I'm impulsive though, so that may change.
