Looking for transmission advice, TH350 or SM465

I've heard really good things about the hydro clutch, when I can find a hydro bellhousing that doesn't cost an arm and a leg then I'll probably switch over just to keep my mechanical linkages from falling apart on the trail,

Have you looked up Novak for hydraulic retrofits for a mechanical bellhousing? It's 200 bucks and you don't need the hydro bellhousing...

It's an option that I've looked into. My only issues is that I can't go and pick up replacement parts from the local parts store that I can swap in just in case something breaks.

anyone use a softer spring from like Ace Hardware or something?

My leg was dead ass hell today from all the stop lights and stop signs lol.
I removed the spring under the dash

Mine has never had one since I bought it and I was going to go to a hardware store to replace it but now I'm not sure... Maybe I'll try the lightest one I can find that reaches

Im lucky and my 465 came with a hydro clutch being a 90'. Only mechanical clutch I've driven is on max02's ratbag. Having been born in the 90's i didn't get to grow up with these things... and not nearly enough of them have been saved up here!

I've never driven one with a hydro setup...that was dumb of me. Should have went for a spin in yours when you were out. Felt nice rowing through the gears on my driveway though.

Theres a mixture this week. surprisingly a 465 thread too. Some weeks though it seems constant.

But your right about how many autos take a :poo: on a regular basis....Probably cause there 100 to 1 more of them? That and a manual it's self is stronger but you will fine alot more problems outside the box it's self....Clutch, linkage, flywheel.

I believe the reason most autos blow up is heat and the mismanagement of it. If someone can blow up a 465 id applaud that. Seems to me they didnt put many autos in the 2.5 ton trucks ........

Theres also an odd phenomenon of people switching from auto to manual...just like this thread. Weird.
