looking to upgrade rearends on my 89 k5 blazer, help needed

The 14bsf and 30 spline 10B (89-91) are a decent combo. The ebrake cables hook right up and even the yoke off the old axle will swap over to the 14bsf. Just buy some new spring perches. We were able to cut and reweld the original shock mounts even. My axle came out of a 92 C2500 LD and is actually about an inch wider than the stock 10B. This is a nice bonus. The lug nuts will need to be larger for the new axle but your wheels should fit. It also lifts the rear about an inch. It really is an ideal swap. Makes me think that this is what it should have come from the factory with.

thanks for the replys yall, well i got the eaton posi out of my stock 10bolt rear.... went to swap it over to the front 10 bolt witht he new 3.73 gears and the posi is a dang 28 spline so i guess im runnin open diff up front for now because my set of axel shafts are 30 spline and to big around to fit in the 28 spline posi. so if anyone out there wants a 28 spine easton posi let me know cause its for sale! on another note how would a true trac do up front in a 30 spline 10 bolt? would i be abele to drive it with the hubs locked in on black top with out any ill effects while its in 2wd? mostly for in the winter when its snowy and icy... also whats a good cheap posi or locker for my new 9..5" ring gear 14 bolt? its open diff as well.

would a 1/2 ton 2wd rear 10 bolt be a 28 or 30? if its the one that fits that posi I may be interested

Why did it lift it another inch? Spring perches, thicker axle tube??

The only experience I have with a true trac is when I put one in the rear of a Camaro I built. It worked freakin great. Absolutely no noise, ever. Nothing funny around tight corners. I would have no issue using one in a front or rear diff of a 4x4 that saw street and light trail use, maybe up to moderate. On pavement with hubs locked in and t-case in 2wd you should be just fine, all it will be doing is spinning the front diff gears and drive shaft.
