Alright, you guys talked me out of it. On to learning more about adjusting the TBI for a 383. Somebody got the best link?
In real world your burban with street tires and 454 will run if your lucky in the 17's or so. if you can get those turds to do faster id love to see it. now if it were gutted and built right (suspension & such) in a 2wd version with the motor and a good solid th400 trans launchin at bout 4500 rpm maybe a 13-14 et. Youd never get into the 12-13's with a 4x4 burban under natural asperation. Plus if your 454 is putting 533 to the ground that 700r4 would bust on your first launch! also i wouldnt brag bout 14.1's to much either. just my $0.02
first off, i said the suburban my 454 is going into is 2wd and i have 30x12.5 et streets for it. secondly i have personally seen a 3/4 ton 2wd suburban do 12.30s on street tires at a drag strip and its the exact same truck i got my 4 core rad and roller rockers from. a low 14 second et is very impressive for a tank station wagon, maybe you should read the specs on it again. it was pretty much identical in size and weight (actually heavier) than my 2wd burban. there are parts available to make a 700r4 withstand that kind of power and i have no problems spending the coin on doing it.

instead of all you guys telling me it cant be done, try helping me out and come up with ideas on how to make it happen, and with a 700r4. sometimes when a group of people get together and think about something, it sparks new ideas that someone else may have overlooked. i thought thats why these forums were for.
