Low Buck Wheeler: Project Stump Jumper

UPDATE TIME!

I've been majorly busy with work but over the last 2 months or so I have made some progress. I rebuilt my spare 14 bolt with an overson mini-spool, solid diff cover, diy gaurdsman off my old 14b and shaved and smoothed it.

I also rebuilt all my leaf packs. In the front I installed new poly bushings redrilled the perches an inch forward and added a couple leaves from a 56" pack and pulled a few of the lift leaves out. In the rear leaf packs I added an add-a-leaf and zero rate to level me out and give me a little more stability.

I also cut out my factory dash and started installing the DIY dash but don't have any pics of that yet as I took it out to install my mojave heater...

Not onto a few pics...

I don't have any completed pics on this comp for some reason but i'll try and get one tonight.

Nice shave job! I need to do that bad! How long did it take? What tool did you use. Thats on my to do list! Looking good!!!

Thanks Guys! it's coming along slowly

Munepit: I used a recip to cut the top lip off and then went to town with my 7" angle grider for a bit then cleaned and smoothed everything over with a 60 grit flap wheel... all in all i'm very please with the way the new 14b went together. plus these overson spools bring the beef :thumb:

These aren't my pics cause I forgot to take any  but these are a few of the spool I found online. This thing is sick

Thanks for the props guys, she's coming together slowly but surely.

My son is due at the end of July and I just bought a new house that i'll be settling on next month and remodeling the kitchen right away so life is really busy, but i'm hopping to have the engine converted to pane, install the roll cage, get the front lockright installed and have her running strong before the baby if I can pull it off.

I just just won this setup off ebay for 225:thumb:

Also my F350 is for sale so check out the link to the ad in my sig. Give me a call to talk about the CK5 discount :D

A buddy of mine works on forklifts and dropped off two aluminum 10 gallon tanks yesterday, and both of them are partially full too :D

The ebay item has shipped and should be here later this week. I'm, hoping that by this weekend i'll most everything I need to install propane on the truck! I can't wait to ditch this carb :thumb:

I'm curious to know what a gallon of propane is costing now. I bet it's really high up your way. :eek1:

I think we're right at 4.50 a gallon retail. The same buddy who sourced the tanks for me can fill up tanks at work at cost so he can hook me up as needed and my uncle also works for a propane distributor and has the same perks. Plus i'm not going propane because it's economic, I'm truing to get away from the carb while not adding a bunch of computer controlled injection. This rig sees very little street time and even if I only get 5 mpg that's still 100 gallons range which for this rig is plenty adequate . From what I understand though i'll be closer to 8-9 mpg, which is plenty of range for me and will get me farther than my 16 gallon fuel cell does...

Truck is looking good :waytogo: , get all the work done possible before the little one comes, between my 4 1/2 year old son and my 7 week old daughter , I'm lucky to have time to peak in the garage to see if the K5 is still there :doah:.
What area did you buy a house in? I was actually in your neck of the woods today.

Thanks man.... one step at a time.

I have a 1 and half year old daughter that already occupies a ton of my time but she's a lot of fun :D and I also work upwards of 70 hrs a week so what I accomplish is few and far between as is....

Just to get the few major things done will not be easy with my current schedule and with the work the new house will need but i'm hoping.

We actually bought a rancher in the neighborhood we rent in now. It was an awesome deal on a foreclosure (we snagged it for 140K :waytogo:), and the bank had new carpet, paint and windows installed before they listed it. We're hoping to be in it for a few years and then it will make a great rental when we look for something bigger and plus it also has a garage which i'm happy about. Next time your in the area give me a shout 443 286 3o63

Next time I'm over that way I'll let ya know.
One of my guys had his truck at an exhaust shop near 8th ave and rt2 . I took him over to pick up his truck and saw the 4x4 camaro outside of Atlantic 4x4, had to stop and look :D .
My shop and office are only 10 minutes or so away, it's off of Washington blvd just over the city line , about 2 miles from 695. I haven't been there much lately, but had some down time this week so I've been trying to catch up before I get sent back out.

I work 40 hours a week and have no kids and your build is still moving faster than mine :haha:

That'd be cool. I haven't actually ever met anyone on this forum so i'd be cool to have a face to put with the screen name. :thumb:

Was your guy having work done at Tony's? They do pretty good work at that shop. The guys at mid-atlantic 4x4 are good guys but mostly deal in Mall crawlers and lifted daily driver ifs rigs but are always more than happy to talk about wheeling and lend a hand when they can.

How's the future Coal Roalin' K5 coming?

It's been a slow go man, I actually only get stuff done when there's a hold up on a job site so I can't work when I scheduled to. I've worked 85 hrs a week the last two weeks and haven't done a thing on the rig. It's tough working this much but it's worth it to be able to keep my wife at home to take care of the kids rather than her working and us paying for daycare... Don't want someone else raising my kids...

Awesome, I can't wait to get it on there and going... What shut off are you using?

BTW your truck is looking sick on the 44's

I'm using the same VFF30 that's in your pic... Just plumb it from the tank to the VFF30 then to the Model E... Run a vacuum hose off the intake to the VFF30... I'm running my vacuum off the Q-jet base that my 425 is bolted to... Your base looks the same...

It's slower to start if it's been sitting than an electric shut off... You'll need to crank the engine over to open the diaphragm on the VFF30 until the propane makes it up threw the vaporize(Model E) and then the mixer(425)... After that it starts with just a bump...

I had an electric shut off and it has to be wired to a switch or ign on... I like the vacuum because if the engine is not running, there's no propane going to the system...

It may take some time to dial it in for the best performance and mpg, but it will run no matter what...

I've kinda gotten used to the 44s on the Blazer... Not as much of a shock factor as the first day they were on...:D

Gotcha... What do you do to dial these systems in?

I sure wouldn't mind having mine on 44's, i'm thinking that I need to get my 39.5 tsls back on this thing to make it look right...

A few new ones of the truck, I had to move it to get some stuff out of the car port... It needs some love in the trans department. I don't think the clutch is disengaging completely and also my throttle cable is sticking bad causing it to idle high and makes it a pain to move it around... anyway here's a few shots... all leveled out it with the new aal and zero rate it looks to tall for the tires :dunno:, the stance doesn't look quite right to me for some reason... idk i'm burnt out it's been a hell of a few weeks...
