Lowered 4x4 Blazer question

I have both a 4wd and a 2wd blazer. I love them both. Use them both for different purposes. The 2wd has a TPI and 700R4 combo that I get 23mpg in.

Keep searching. You'll find one eventually. They are out there and worth it. Or like everyone said, buy a 4wd and swap all the parts to make it a 2wd.

.....or get a Porterbuilt front crossmember. It's got the integral bracketry to hang complete C4 Corvette suspension on it (upper and lower A-arms, spindles and brakes)

When I had my '72 Burb and was planning to dump a bunch of money into an air ride suspension, the Porterbuilt solution kept coming up as the ultimate way to go.

I would really like to build a first gen blazer lowered and 2wd to tow my 1968 boat. But I would probably be bitch slapped by the CK5 crowd for doing it.

You might wish you still had 4WD when the truck doesn't want to pull up out of the water at the boat ramp...:D

It's great free entertainment here to go to Plymouth MA harbor and watch guys "launch" their boats...you can tell right away who the pro's are,and which ones aren't...I watched one guy's Ford F-250 2WD slide backwards into the ocean until the bed was submerged, and the cab filled up to the seat with water, his boat and trailer appeared to "pull" it backwards.....he was lucky another guy came to his rescue and hooked a strap to his front bumper and towed it out before it slid out any further..the tires spun like they were on ice,the ramp was all algae and seaweed...

I have always used 2wd trucks for boat towing rigs. It is a 68 Stevens flat bottom. I will lengthen the trailer so the truck never gets wet. Truck would be Posi and big fat tires under tubbed fenders. Big block and an auto. Thats the dream.

Utah safety inspections does not let you put air bags where springs were.

Most inspectors don't care but the UHP does and will ticket you.

inspections are a joke in most states! But any chevy truck lowered or bagged is bad ass. 4/6 going in my wifes 67 C10 from ECE . I like both lifted and lowered trucks.

see 2wd blazers on CL in the Los Angeles area all the time, neighbor up the street has a 70 2wd been sitting in his driveway untouched for the last 10 years

I was thinking a newer one because the ifs is already in the way. Do an axle flip in the back.

Lower the torsion bars all the way in the front and see what happens.

More then likely this is all just a dream. Don't have any money, have a Nova to fix if I had any money.

No torsion bars on the 2wd's. Coil springs

I know I mentioned this on this site somewhere in the past. We lowered my brothers 4wd s10. We all had lowered trucks, but wanted one to pull the Jet Ski's up the boat ramps. Some were real slimy and our 2wd would get stuck just spinning tires. That s10 worked great.
