LS swap in my 87 k5

I didn't get a chance to look into it too much, I will check the fuel pressure. I heard the pump kick on, that doesn't mean much tho. And not sure how long it set before I got it. It sounded like a dodge when it was turning over, you know that whining sound they make. I'm stoked it turned over to tell you the truth.

Did you get all the anti thief stuff turned off on the ECM

I cracked the fitting at the fuel rail just enough for air to come out, and the vendor said that the vats were removed. I'll check for spark tonight, I don't have the maf sensor in or the t case hooked up I'm waiting to get my Adaptor for the vss.

Well it should run without MAF but MAF is very forgiving when it comes to how the PCM was programmed. Speed Density is what the PCM will default to when MAF fails and it is no where near as forgiving. Hook up the MAF, clear codes and try to start it.

What PCM is it?

Again tho, how long did it sit? Those injectors really can all get stuck closed. It seems to actually be somewhat common.

I've got to order a maf sensor, I kinda skipped ahead on starting it just wanted to hear it run. And as far as the PCM it was programmed by s&s performance out of Arkansas.

Like eaglemark said, it should run without the maf, but it depends on what the ve table was set and how close it is to what your 5.3 is pysically capable of pumping. Check all your injectors, they should have power on one of the wires with the key on, check with multimeter. The noid is to check your injector pulses, check your spark the "old school" way with a screwdriver to tell which way to help you (spark, fuel, air).

She's alive, it was in the wiring I was loosing power as it cranked to the pump.

Nice job!

I was going to say mine will start and run with no maf, no vss, and no O2 sensors; even though it was programmed to use all of them.

Glad to hear you got it running, now comes all the small stuff that isn't all too complicated, just time consuming. I'm guessing you need a beer right about now.

yeah the small stuff will eat up some time for sure, thanks for all the replies I will have some pics up soon.

My advanced adaptor piece came in today, I worked on the truck all day. I think I have everything together except my intake and that's scheduled to be here 4/16. I'm going to start reworking my exhaust and we will be road ready!

I got my intake on last night, my plan was to be driving it by Friday but instead I'm on my way home to Tennessee. Looks like it'll be next week.
