LSX454 swapped 95 BASS burb.

Little lower, little cooler, bigger sounds.
I'm not sure this goes in builds exactly. But there will be enough stuff done over time to warrant it I guess.

Main things to come will be about a 2"-3" drop all the way around. I don't want to level it. Just a minor rake and sorta lower. Wheels/tires to match. And if I can't match the dented door well enough, a garage paint job.

It WILL be getting a healthy stereo.. probably beyond what most here would want lol.

As of now it is my daily driver to replace the CC dually I've been using. Dually will be a tow rig only basically.

No real power upgrades or anything like that are in the plan at the moment. Who knows what the future will bring.

What it came with.

6.5TD with PMD relocation, new injector pump, Carter lift pump, all new fuel lines, and an aftermarket frame mount spin on filter setup. New harmonic balancer. Plus some other new goodies. A Heath airbox, and Heath mild tune.
4l80e. 2wd.

Lol. I actually thought about that. I have the axle and some springs laying around. But I want a decent MPG cruiser, and already have a 4x4. So I shifted gears a little bit and decided on low n slow.

If it ever chits the engine, breaks a crank:rolleyes:, or something. It may end up with an LS instead. But I'll save the go and stick with slow for now lol.

This gets 20+ mpg, instead of 8-10. I'm liking that.

Few things I found when digging through the folder he gave me

Not sure on highs and mids yet. But at least a pair of Orion HCCA subs. 12"s or 15"s, haven't picked that yet either. If I get a line on some of their XTR PRO subs (discontinued) I'll do 4 of those instead.
Either 2 Orion XTR2500.1 amps, or 1 HCCA5000.1.
I did some fun stuff with Orion back when the XTR line first came out. Loved their stuff. So I figured I'll try em again.

I just ordered a cheap Pioneer DEH-S5100BT for a deck. Just to get something in there. If I like it it may stay. It's hard to find a good deck that will take real bass though. I used to go Kenwood all the time, but my last 3 failed me super fast. So fock them.
As for highs and mids, my best system ever used Infinity KAPPA's. But that was 20 years ago. And I've only had a few relatively decent stereos since then. So it'll be a fun one trying to find something I want to go with now.

For now though...... I'm just buying my amp, running the pioneer with whatever speakers are in it, and I'm going to run my Cerwin Vega 18" stroker pro audio sub while I save for the other subs :saweet:

Believe it or not but I've got a full system with a couple of 12s stashed behind the seat of my 454.
It's close to 20 years old but still hits.
I had forgotten you were into that when I got the cab.

Yeah. I've done a LOT of stereo stuff lol. I wanted to open my own shop when I was younger. And now that I have a shop to do it in, theres too much BS to get one in a lot of new vehicles. So I'm not really interested in opening a shop for it anymore. I still do all my friends and kids friends stuff.
After I bought my house, and had my 5th or 6th system stolen, I concentrated on home audio for a while. Sort of backed out of car stuff. Home audio just can't get the bass side of things enough for me though.
I want to be able to numb my senses with sound waves again lol.
If I crank it to the near distortion point, and put my back to my home speakers. I can get close. But still not enough.

I had an RE audio SEX series 15" in my burnt burb. And I really thought of doing a group of those. But I can't find them without going to egay anymore. And I hate dealing with egay. Been burnt a couple times on electronics now.

Back in the day MTX had a plant, (still do)
Next to my old job (Monroe, Wis). We used to be able to get blems out of the dumpster. Lol. Eventually they figured it out and would completely destroy them when they tossed them out.

I also ordered a pair of Falken wildpeak AT3 tires for the rear tonight. The front tires are in great shape. But the rears a BALD. Which seems strange since they all appear to be the same. Making me think they may have been bought as a set.

Maybe not though :dunno:. I do know the kid has WAY to much pressure in them lol. I can feel every single teeny crack in the road. Both of my 1 ton crewcabs ride better than this does.

It does have a LOT of miles though. So new bushings and such are soon to come also.

Lol, we did the same thing with McDonald's in the late 80's. They'd through about any sandwiches left on the warmers at closing. We'd wait by the fence and hop over n steal the garbage bags. Usually got a bunch of good warm wrapped up sandwiches out of it. They caught on and started opening the wrappers before they threw em out and pouring the coffee and grounds in too. Bastids, lol.

Lol. Sounds like what we did with Frito lay in highschool.
They would toss out chips that were expired by a few days or close to be expired.
I shit you not one night we scored a full longbed worth of chips.
Probably 90% of those chips didn't get ate. But it was fun to toss bags at people etc. etc.

New meats mounted.

This thing has 45-48 psi of oil pressure when idling.. that seems pretty good.. on a cold start it take a full minute for the oil pressure to get past 10 though... Which seems not so good. Not really sure there.:dunno:

Also, it had a 1/4 tank when I got it. I filled it up there before heading home and it took 28.5 gallons. So I'm assuming the 42 gallon tank. So far I've driven it about 250 miles.... And this is what it's reading now... If that's accurate, I'm SO happy :woot:
(Dash oil gauge don't work, there's a mechanical under the dash)

Don’t get super excited on the fuel tank. My 6.5 would be full for 3 weeks and then drop to empty from half in like two days. They’re real fidgety when they start going.
Same way my 93 454 is. I fill it up and drive forever without the needle moving.
Then all of a sudden I need gas. Lots and lots of it.
