LSX454 swapped 95 BASS burb.

Little lower, little cooler, bigger sounds.

Could this be part of my dieing issue...? :thinking:
And should I change this with my new cam and all that happening?

Currently I'm running 3/8 line up to about the B pillar or driver's seat on the frame rail, Going into a Corvette filter/regulator, then single -6AN up to the fuel rail from there. Deadhead style.
A while back the acceleration enrichment was adjusted too.
Both times happened under massive fuel consumption events.

I kinda wouldn't mind doing the double Y method with a real regulator brought up in that thread anyway.

I got the new sensor port, and fuel pressure sensor now. I just have to find the wires for it in my harness.
I doubt this is your issue at your power level and when it's happening (after the engine has been running and air has been purged out).

Hook your fuel pressure sensor up so you can see it and log it when this happens again, then you'll know if its fuel supply or not.

Make sure you put the sensor near the fuel rail on the dead head system, where it matters. On a non dead head I put the regulator after the rails and put the sensor in the regulator.

If fuel pressure is the culprit at high load toward the end of the run, it's more likely the pump not keeping up or the pickup area going dry, you'll find out soon.

I was going to put it right at the connection to the rail. Just gotta see where my wires for it went when I wired it up. I haven't looked yet.

Am I thinking correctly that the Terminator X has an actual plug in the harness for it?
Or do I have to get on still?
 
The only thing is that doesn't explain why the MAP and TPS sensors dropped out, but it does eliminate another source.

Did you get better plug wires yet? MSD Superconductor or Firecore50 are both good.
 
I was just going to do that when the new heads and cam and such is done.
I have to be real picky selecting them. The headers don't allow very much room for the plug side.

Like it's too close for ceramic boots to even fit, so those types are out immediately. Etc.
 
Ya know.... I forgot the Terminator had diagnostic LEDs.

If it happens again, I'm going to leave the key on and check em.

I was going through the paperwork last night trying to see where abouts in the harness I can find the fuel pressure plug. And came across that chart.
It was nearly a literal forehead slapping moment lol:doah:

Just may have a regulator issue... I need to see if I have to set any parameters in the ecm for the new sensor or what.... But this is idle at the fuel rail inlet.
One jump on the pedal drops it 15psi instantly.

I had to take the harness apart a little ways, and pull the plug out. Then re tape it up.
Pretty much had a thin black tape on it before is all. So it's nearly the same now.

The Corvette style regulator is an Amazon cheapo.

I should either revamp the fuel delivery, or get the actual GM one probably.
 
Yep. When it came down to "get it in the truck" all the easy to change parts got cheapo bought.
Was running out of money, and needed it on the road real quick due to dually issues.

Figured I'd start replacing them as needed after it started driving.
Only problem with that is there like a half a dozen , so now I don't know which one is causing an issue lol.
 
You surely shouldn't have 75 psi of fuel pressure and your throttle body shouldn't go past 90 degrees and have a intermittent signal. I would guess more than one is getting you. It's a classic example of cheap parts costing more in the long run.
 
Just for giggles I'm going to change the sender out for the analog gauge I have and check it against that.
Never know. It's 'slightly' possible the sender was made on a Friday. Lol.
Probably not, but it's worth a check since it's easy to do.


I went back through and found my orders, then remembered something.
I ordered a $40 regulator that was messed up out of the box. Can't remember what was wrong. Then I went back and just ordered an AC Delco gold.
That's what's in it now.

With a better style actual regulator.

Really ordering the cheap stuff didn't cost much more in the long run. I've gotten 2 years out of these. And it made it run when I needed it to.
I've gotten enough use to get my money's worth.

And actually, it still runs good. Just occasionally gets pissed at me when I flog the snot out of it lol.

Now ,if it was a cheap oil pump, and it chunked my engine out,.... Then yeah, that would be a kick in the ass.
 
Why do you have such high fuel pressure? I would double check the scaling.

Those regulators are known to go bad. I had a parts store one that wouldn’t hold prime.
 
I checked the scaling and it's looking for a 0-100 sensor, and the gage scale is 0-100 .
That's why I want to double check it with the analog. Pretty simple to do. So MAW.
 
Get a fuel pressure test gauge. I use this one from OTC:
OTC 5630 Fuel Pressure Test Kit

It screws right into the schrader valve on the fuel rail and has a pressure relief button to cleanly relieve fuel pressure before disconnecting a hose.

Regardless of the scaling of the sender or Holley computer it's still showing fuel pressure drop when you lay into it.

I know a lot of people use the Corvette regulators for LS swaps but I've definitely been seeing more posts in the LS Swap world about them failing or not regulating properly. If it's out warranty, now might be a good time to upgrade to a nice vacuum reference regulator to support future boost.
