LSX454 swapped 95 BASS burb.

Little lower, little cooler, bigger sounds.
I've kind of almost given up on this thing doing burnouts.

I shoulda built the Big block.

The cost of an LSA would build a carbureted 496 with more power and torque than this has now.

I think this engine would be tits if it wasn't in an elephant. Lol
 
I used to do burnouts in my mom’s stock 5.3 suburban. Until the gov lock blew up. Went from a two wheel burn out to a one leg. I’m so glad warranty covered it and I didn’t have to fess up to that one.

Point being, this thing should do it. Random thought but is there maybe some torque management stepping in somewhere?

Also random thought, if you are running vacuum brakes, with the cam, is it possible that holding the brakes is dropping the vacuum to low and when it adds fuel it’s to much because there isn’t enough vacuum to bring enough air in for that split second? I’m grasping at straws obviously.
 
Is it still learning at 3kRPM and 100 MAP? That 10 AFR reading is basically telling you it misfires. Remember, it doesn't know AFR, only how much oxygen it's adding or subtracting in an attempt to get the O2 to 0.5V. It's saying there is way too much oxygen, which is because the charge didn't light in at least some of the holes. If the AFR really was 10:1 it wouldn't really run right or make any power, so you don't really know if it's lean or rich.

I would start with smaller throttle opening in that range, such that it's running OK, and slowly work to larger ones, so you can see the trend of what's going on. It may help to add timing and duty cycle to your plots to see what's going on there.

Its got much bigger brakes than that burb I'm betting, but it should still do it yeah.

Terminator X has a torque management table, but it's 0 across the board..

And hydro boost brakes.

It's learning across the board at the moment. I just have it dumbed down in the idle area some.
I'm about to up that again though.

I get that could still be a misfire situation.

all smooth sounding the entire time. Almost like I just let up for a second.

Timing stays within about .2 of 29.5 .

Duty cycle for what,? Injectors? I'll have to look for that. All I've seen is pulse width.
 
Part I don't get is all that was changed is cam specs in the Terminator, and the cam/heads in the engine. Rest of the program is just like it was before, and it didn't do that.

But, it has never had the power to do burnouts since the LS swap, which has been my problem the entire time.
If it had done them the way it was, I'd have never even done these upgrades.
Everything with an LS type engine that I have ever driven, would do one. This one just doesn't :dunno:
It has never had ANY low end power.
I know this type of engine is better at the top, but that doesn't mean they're equivalent to a Briggs and Stratton off idle. It doesn't make any sense, and I'm convinced it's in the tune and being overlooked somewhere.:what:

That said, I don't remember it even doing one with the 6.5 dizzle. But I also can't remember trying.


Huge brakes and hydro boost aren't helping.
But the line lock installed the way I did is shutting fluid to the rear off. And it still wouldn't.

I tested the line lock deal by driving down the road, hitting the brakes and seeing how it stopped. Then did it again but held the button before I hit the brakes. It didn't stop as well. Telling me it worked.

Immediately after that I let off the button. Stopped, let up, held the button, pushed the brakes again, and tried. They spun, but just stayed at a slow roll squealing but it never picked up any wheel speed.

10 isn't your O2 reading, it's calculated AFR based on feedback from the WBO2 sensor (i.e. low voltage). The amount of oxygen in the exhaust doesn't tell you anything about AFR unless the mixture combusted properly! How can the RPM decrease unless it's misfiring?
 
I'm guessing holley already had the numbers in their system, since the injectors I have are in the Terminator X drop-down menu.
It looks like they're saying your injectors are rated for 50lb/hr at 60 psi. I'm not saying that's wrong, but usually ratings are given at 3bar or 4 bar (43.5 psi or 58 psi). Might be worth double checking.
 
Doesn't sound or act like misfire at all, unless it's all cylinders equal and evenly. :dunno:. Which you'd think would just kill it lol.

This is a power brake attempt with timing and the only duty cycle on the list that I seen.
Timing does dip at the start.

I think I put the 60 in there. Can't remember.i was thinking the other day that maybe I should move that to 58. Figured the 2 psi didn't matter, so I didn't.
But as for the numbers. The ones Holley has that I can change are the only numbers I can't find for the injectors.

There a professional tuner in your area that could take a look?

There's a shop about 45 minutes away that specializes in LS swaps, they use Holley FI, and have a dyno. Already talked to my wife last night about taking it there.
I figure I'm already $10k into performance upgrades, another $500-1000 isn't gonna hurt at this point if it works.
If it doesn't I can at least check that off my list of what I tried :dunno:

You're entering the flow at 60psi (414kPa), which isn't far off.

Kind of confused me. Does that mean they're good, or I have to change something? lol.
 
I went into an old tune and started d1ckin with the injectors. I changed them to 50/58. Then went to the drop down and chose my injectors. It changed back to 49.6/60

But changing it to 50/58 and my system pressure to 58, did change the graph a bunch when I recalculated the injector end angle
 
That's what I'm wondering. But it's all the odd sensor readings at that point that seem odd and coincidental.
