LSX454 swapped 95 BASS burb.

Little lower, little cooler, bigger sounds.
Same with my neck. Thankfully I can see a chiropractor and it helps but it still happens. Lately it’s been partially locking up and limiting my range of motion. Some of it is my upper back muscles are tight and I’ve gotta stretch them out.

Denatured alcohol is good for prep. They make "real" prep products, but the ethanol is usually all you need unless there's silicone contamination. Brake cleaner is too aggressive.

Been usually just using window cleaner. But the brake clean was there and I just grabbed it.

Oh well. Lol.

Turned out alright.
I didn't sand the wrinkled spot deep enough. But it'll work.
I might do it again before the doors go on.
Actually gotta do the doors next. Because I figure I'll be way easier with em off.IMG_20260410_212011787_HDR.jpgIMG_20260410_212033645_HDR.jpgIMG_20260410_211946658_HDR.jpg

After all of my issues with Mom's jeep yesterday, I actually did get at least SOMETHING done on the burb lol.
Last main body piece tacked on.

After that, I have the lower 2" of the tail doors to fix quick. And have to take the doors off the other side for a front hinge swap and rear door swap.
Then it's final prime for final paint.

The roof rack rivnut deals are going to wait for next winter.. The roof is easily able to be masked off separate and there's no where from the side or front that body color touches body color. So shouldn't have to worry about color inconsistency.
It'll probably even be from the same paint cans if it holds all year.

Well. Guess my final semi secret design for this will change now. :doah:
I had planned on doing a darker matte version of this....Screenshot_20260314-201426~2.jpgScreenshot_20260326-125153.png

With flames similar to theseScreenshot_20260113-060041.png

But done entirely in this color shifting paint that goes from orange to red, to black. In glossScreenshot_20260116-161632~2.jpgScreenshot_20260116-161639~2.jpg

Then, this morning I went up my alley, and literally on my block I see this, gmt400, in black with color changing flames.....:notworthy:
Well, I can't do it NOW! Lol. I'd be a damn copy cat.
As a dude, it'd be weird man... Can't do it.
So I'm going to stay with my color scheme, and come up with a different design than flames.:dunno:

Or skip the color shift and just go black design of some kind.

Yep, ghost flames. That car has a FL plate on it, so its probably not local, go with the red/orange paint in gloss. Its not like anyone will mistake your burb for that “other car”.
Im not a fan of matte paint, (looks like the clear coat was left out) and gloss Black needs perfect bodywork, and although you've done a damn good job, the big slab sides of a burb invite magnification of imperfections.

The car is just pics off a youtube vid to show what color my flames would be.
I've already bought the pearl that does that from the dudes that make the vid.

The truck with flames is the one on my block. And the reason I don't want to "copy " it lol.

It's technically low gloss paint but I just say matte cause it's close. :dunno:

Already bought 3 gallons of it lol.

At one point, before I seen the orange/red/black color shift. I thought about laying out the flames, and doing the faded edge thing with the air brush in glow in the dark pigment with clear.
You get the ghost of it, and it'd stand out at night as LED headlights went past it to charge it.
But it'd be a lighter color, hazy white or whatever in daylight, and I'd fuggin HATE that.

Small piece between the door and wheel well is welded, ground, and bondo'd.
No pics.

And I didn't think of pics during...
But, doors are sanded and primed in the jambs/interior.

Covered to keep dust off, and getting painted in the morning.IMG_20260419_185713125_MP.jpgIMG_20260419_185711102_MP.jpg

Went up at like midnight cause I couldn't sleep and painted them.
There's a few things spots, but being that paint I'm waiting a day or 2 before I respray just in case lol.IMG_20260420_020758330_MP.jpg

And......

There's a good chance I F****d up :doah:

There's a bunch of little holes all over that I painted over.... Not thinking about the glass being inside the door at the moment.
Whoops lol.
We'll see I guess.:dunno:

Front window isn't a huge deal.
I actually have tinted ones that came out of the burb I parted sitting in the attic.
Rear one I'm more worried about.

If you don't have anything on the glass you can easily remove the paint with a razor blade.
On mine I can't do it on the inside because of the tinting

The back door only has one hole I'm worried about causing me grief.
Really, I'm not sure what I could have done differently. :dunno:
The ones big enough were in visible areas. So I couldn't tape them.
And in order to get the window seal out I had to have the window down.
