When I held it at 2-3% throttle, it would run. But letting off it died.
I would have thought the cool moist air would be too much oxygen if anything.
But it acted like not enough.

Maybe it was a coincidence and the IAC solenoid was stuck..
But I tried it multiple times.
Then today it starts right up and idles.

Thinking back, it's done this once before, and I think it was raining then too.

Did you happen to see if the IAC was at max open already? If it needed more air and the IAC was already fully opened, that could be the issue. With the truck warmed up and idling it should be at around 5% so it has sufficient range to maintain idle when it's cold.
 
How big is your throttle body? When adjusting the iac I like to start the ramp around phoenix lowest temp and work my way up and also don't forget to do a TPS relearn as well.
 
It's a 102.

It did it again today outside with a bunch of dew/fog.
But after a little bit of holding it at 2-3% I let it go slowly, IAC went up to 86, and it sat and idled.

Had the IAC set to idle at about 8%. Which is an average because it bounces all over so it's hard to know what it really is. Idles too erratic for it to just set at a number.
 
Will it not start or it just won't idle unless you keep it running?

Sometimes these things point you in two different directions and you just have to try both and see what it wants.

If the engine is cold it might want less timing at cranking or idle to give it more time to compress the charge and create heat before the spark.
 
It starts fine.
Just once in a while when it's actually moist in the air (rain, fog, etc) it doesn't like to idle on the IAC.
Temp really doesn't seem to be an issue because it's done it on warm and cool days.
Only done it a few that I know of now.

I did lean it out quite a bit on idle, maybe I took it too far which is why I e seen it twice in a few days. :dunno:

I took the fuel down in increments at hot idle until it changed the AFR, then went back up a notch to where it had been running, and left it there.
It's done it twice since I did that.
I also shut idle spark off iirc.
And it does idle more erratic since I did.
 
I just got up and finished coffee and breakfast, so I'm going to go up and play with the idle some more.
Get a log as it is, and then play with it, and see what I can do.

I have to take it to my uncle's to do that though, as my laptop need to be plugged in pretty much and it's too loud to sit at my shop and let it idle for that long.
 
I did more tuning at idle, and as of now, it's better than it was over all, but I won't know until morning if it's better in the fog.
Usually a haze of fog in the valley I work in being next to the river.

On another note....
On my way into work a coworker met me on the highway going the other way at 60mph.
He said he had his windows up, AC on, listening to his own radio, and felt my stereo as he was coming up, going by, and after passing :haha:
 
We actually have some big ones.
But, this is in illinois, and all around my plant is a 80-90 foot sand hill. We sit down in a low spot next to the Mississippi.
 
So... Mid bass amp is bad right out of the box.
I mean, it sat in the box on a shelf for almost 4 years. Then been mounted in my truck for a year almost 2.
But never had power to it.
And it's bad. :dunno: :doah::angry1:

Never in my life had an orion component go bad. And don't personally know anyone who has.

I thought the thrush welded's didn't sound right.
So I made offsets to use my old super turbos with the new tail pipes.

I loved those mufflers coming out at a 45 in front of the rear tires. But longer trips got loud.
Coming out the tail they're pretty tame though lol.

Might have to 90 them behind the rear tires, or even 45 em like my original plan
 
I think the IAC solenoid is messed up.
That's my starting issue I believe.
Because now it's done it hot on a dry day.
When it does it, the IAC seems to be all over the place.
Sitting at 100, but it's bouncing off 11-12 AFR at 0%tps, sitting at 80 for some reason and not moving to catch idle with 0%tps and still not idling, then after I hold it about 3% TPS, and slowly back off to 1%, you see it click and start moving around.
When it does that, I can let off and it'll catch its self.
I'm going to try and log a start up.

If the IAC is messed up then a data log might be incorrect. You need to see if the IAC is actually doing what it is supposed to. I usually go test it at 0 and 100% with the engine off and watch it move.

I had one go wonky on me once and the engine wouldn't go below like 1800 RPM, and I took the air cleaner off to check it, and the screws had vibrated out and the spring was gone from the plunger, I'd say it was messed up! I use loctite on those screws now.
