m1008 6.2 into a 1985 K5 blazer gasser

The vacuum switch your looking for is mounted to the side of the IP in the same place that the throttle position switch for disengaging the torque converter lockup is at on the 700R4 version. It is on the left side of the IP looking at the motor from the front, towards the back of the vehicle. However, I have yet to find a used vacuum switch that is functional. They are about $120 new at the dealer and available as of a year ago when I switched my truck over from a 700R4 to a TH400.

Shipping a used torque converter is going to be a PITA. You need to get all of the fluid out of it or the post office won't be happy with it leaking.

Do I need the pump to run anything in my car that runs off of vacuum?

Oh ok, so all he needs is the switch. If that's the case, then cool :)

Cool, so switch for bracket then? (Even if the switch needs to be replaced at least I'll know what I need.) Checked with the PO, they do have a priority flat-rate box that's just big enough for the TC, up to you on that.

Isn't there also an electric kick down switch at the base of the accelerator pedal on the TH400 trucks? I seem to remember one of those on a 6.2 TH400 C30 I parted out.

Didn't think there was anything electric in a TH400. I think there was only a vacuum line going to the tranny when I pulled the gas engine out.

Still lookin for a TV cable bracket and torque converter. If anyone has those please let me know.

Im a little surprised that no one mentioned the steering box since it is tapped for the hydro boost, and Im pretty sure theres some other parts that you need to cabbage out too, maybe the resivore too? id have to take pix and post up, which I will if you need them.

The steering box is the same between a hydroboost and non-hydroboost truck. The hydroboost pump has an extra return fitting, but that should already be on the donor motor.
