M1008 Cucv Ls Swap Cadolet Build, long range Blazer Bash 2026 prep

Converting my M1008 from 6.2 Diesel to LQ9 power
The cheapest way I found is to put a gallon or two of diesel fuel in a bucket and go to town with a brush. Then I give them a quick rinse with brake clean.
As far as greasing goes, I just smear a medium film on the spindle and all the parts with my hands and fingers. Too much grease can hinder the action of the lockinghub.

Thank you, I know too much grease is bad, just wasn't sure how much is okay.

The most important part of that job is getting the indexing washer located on the pin correctly before cinching down the second lock nut. If the pin isn’t in one of the holes and you tighten down the lock nut, it will just push the pin into the nut and you won’t have any locking if that makes sense.

The pin shound be on the back ring facing out. I know that much, how tight do I want to make the lock nuts?

So my roll pin punch was too short. What are people using to get the roll pin out? I ran out of light so I'll continue tomorrow.

Someone posted the actual procedure out of the manual on here but I cant remember where. I set mine by feel but I know that doesnt help.

Yrah after trying to follow official procedures and roasting my bearings first trip because I went too tight, I learned from a few old timers what to look for by feel and I have been doing great since.
Tighten then release enough to rotate, then do it again until it doesn't change where it tightens, then release and set the lock washer making sure it didn't change the settings and put the locking nut and tighten 2 ugga uggas
