Converting my M1008 from 6.2 Diesel to LQ9 power
I have pulled my truck up on a trailer by the tie rod when the transmission was welding itself together it was amazing
Good to know if I need to ever do that.
I don’t really recommend it, it was one of those I don’t care moments just get it done
I have the cucv shackle points. I probably won't ever do it.

I forgot how good Desert Tan looks on the cucv. I think a backyard paint job will happen soon. Test painted the fenders today.
That looks great. I also dig the camo paint showing through in spots, though. Can't go wrong either way!
The rear shocks were blown, no wonder it rode like a conastoga wagon. Got the rears done, fronts today.

The hydro assist ram mount showed up today.
I got the rear brakes sorted today. Whey were about 30 %left on the shoes but the drums were scored and beat up. So I had the machine shop turn the drums and I installed new shoes and springs. Everything was in great condition for being 40 years old. It also solved my brake issue with the warped drums.
Working on mocking up the tie rod and if it's good my buddy will finish the welds on it for me.
Got the tie rod mocked up and my buddy will weld it up for me. While I'm in there I'm going to install my front shocks and mounts and my locker in my 60, then tackle a oil leak from a brass fitting.
So I got the passenger side shock mount done. It looks good imo. While doing the drivers side I was measuring the distance between the bump stop and the spring. The passenger side was 8 inches, the drivers side was 6 and a half inches in height. So my driver side lean is definitely a spring issue. So I need new springs.
Which bilstein's did you order.

It's 4 inch with the zero rate, but the drivers side is flatter. Than the passenger side. I got the shocks for a 6 inch, so I'm going with 6inch springs soon.
Hahahahahah yeah but mine leans bad. I ordered a set of these to see if they will help, I was reading online where a guy had drivers side lean and these helped.
My rear had a lean due to me not being so exact when doing my 64" spring swap. I just built some custom blocks with one side 1/2" taller to fix it.
I used those on my 1009 to help the passenger side sag. The two batteries + the soft Skyjacker springs make it lean that way. Also hooking the sway bar back up for street driving helped.
