The best seat ever. I wish I had those in all of my rigs. That Suburban is registered as a "Conversion" though. They used that seat up into the mid 90's. A kid in high school use to drive his mom's 1994 Blazer every once in a while, and it had that seat, along with wood all over.

I think John is going to hook me up since in making him a tie rod clamp for his steering ram. Hopefully it fits me 400/208 OP without mucho modding or parts ****ing.

Beings you are making things. You should make me some collars to fix SM465's through the PTO cover.

Buddy buckets! I have a set from a '68 CST that are going into my '68 someday. just the frames for that vintage are in the $300 ballpark. I got mine and some other **** for 20 bucks :)

They would be a perfect pickup upgrade instead of a regular console. God who even does that?!

Idk what it's going to take or what would be best yet. Since you're the parts interchange guy it sounds like you're suggesting I use two slip joints, but I don't know what that looks like since I can't see it at the moment.

Are those collars something that could be turned out on a lathe quick? I'm making two seperate progressive punch doe assemblies this quarter so my personal projects have to stay pretty quick and easy. outside of that I'd be happy to whip something up while my time and material is free. Plus good faith and all that jazz. Sketch me something and as long as I have a few dimensions and an understanding of what the part needs to do I can get it made up.
 
I am not sure. Currently the fix involves removing the transmission from the vehicle. Completely disassembling the transmission on a bench, and then installing a $4 pipe on the counter shaft between two gears.

If a guy could make that pipe into two pieces and use small allen screws to hold it together, you could drain the fluid, remove the PTO cover, and install it while the transmission was still in the vehicle.

that seems easy enough. how's the pipe fit on the shaft? free spin? press or just interference? any shoulders or special concentricity needs?

It sounds like a guy could just drill, clearance drill, counterbore and then tap a couple holes on each side of the pipe in one setup, then saw the pipe in half between the tapped and clearance drilled portion. Further, a guy could then screw the halves back together and saw the long pipe assemble into lots of little finished collars. Maybe face them all in a lathe if necessary. That sound about right?

I'm not suggesting you run two slip yokes, I am just not sure how else you would do it with an NP208. Unless you brew up some kind of slip yoke eliminator for your transfer case. Due to the two piece drive shaft design, you have to run a slip yoke in the rear shaft between the carrier bearing and the rear axle.

I just called and ordered a pipe (spacer?) from ITP. They said it will probably be next week before it shows up. They said they'll call me when it shows up.

I am not sure. I might go outside and tear into one, and take some pictures. The last time I put one in was over ten years ago. The pipe does have a shaft running through it, so the screws can't go through the center.
