That being said I have some Makita Lith Ion stuff and happen to like the dewalt stuff I bought my dad better.

Ive really had my eye on the new Milwaukee M12 mini line. Nice 3/8s drive ratchet and some super nice small drills and impact guns.

Really!
I have the older 18v Dewalt setup and the new Makita Ion stuff. Completely different power supply and strength I know, but the QUALITY goes the Makita. The little Milwaukee Ion stuff is nice as well, but haven't had much time on it. At this point, it would be really hard for me to buy another Dewalt, even the Ion stuff. Though I must say, it seems the new Dewalt and Milwaukee drills are quite similar IIRC![]()
the vac if decent could actually be useful for me for quickie clean ups as i get off..

You couldn't pay me to take Makita stuff, had too much of it go bad over the years, corded and cordless. I'm stuck on Dewalt now, not a single problem.
I like Milwaukee corded stuff the best but their cordless stuff I've had was junk.I am with Scott I have had Makita stuff before and I didn't like it.
I love my newer Milwaukee fuel drill ( they call it fuel for some reason).
Going to get several more bare tools in the same line and probably 2 more batteries.
Its amazing to me how fast the batteries charge. Less than 15 minutes
Dewalt makes a corded shop/ job site radio that charges your battery packs.

Fuel=brushless. I think they also have a more advanced computer setup with the battery that probably improves performance a bit. I think they're probably the best performing ones out there right now, but the price is generally ridiculous. My preference is the makitas. They're the smallest and most ergonomic and performance wise they're still above the dewalts. If you've picked up the dewalt 1/2" impact and compared it to any other one, including ryobi, it feels like it was designed by Russians to fit a Polish hand. Also, the dewalt batteries suck unless you spend way more than market price on the lithiums, which are still behind the other two in design.
