Metal's LSx swap; Finally up and running!

Smaller foot and push less!!! :haha:

First thing is the speedometer accurate?

I don't remember doing a premium only tune on that? Maybe? I'll look later to see what I did. If you;ve been running anything but primiumnit will take a tank or two to relearn spark curve. There's a low octane and high octane spark table and it's constantly forcing knock to see how far it can go. If you have a scan tool you can see what GM.ASPARK is registering as far as percent, anything less then 100% and your not in High Octane table.

High octane really helps the highway MPG, not so much around town.

I am giving it another go. Much lighter on the gas and I will be coasting to a stop on the highway. :haha:

Tank was dumped and filled with fresh premium and has only had premium since I put the new high pressure fuel pump in. Before I ever even started the motor.

The speedometer should be acurate as it is stock tire size and stock gearing and transmission/ transfercase.

In our messages back and forth you convenced me to go with the performance high octane tune and ditch the cat. Especially because I drive about 80% highway to and from work and to all the trails. It should have a high octane tune, a double check would be appreciated.

I have an obd2 scan cable but my program doesnt read that far into the computer. Is there a cheap or freeware program that would let me check for the GM.ASPARK?

I'm hoping for 13 in the city with my setup. As long as it gets better then the 6 before I'm good.:pimp:

Little bit larger then stock cam about 550 lift range. Also came to the conclusion these trucks are about as aerodynamic as a brick.

None that I know of that will read the GM enhanced PIDS...

It's set up for High Octane, even added a little to it. I still leave a little room in the Low Octane Table instead of forcing it to be a High Octane Table too like some guys do. What happens if you get a bad tank of gas? Or? Get my drift? Mine is set up that way and I'm still at 100% High Octane on GM.ASPARK PID but it can back off a few degrees if it has too.

I do leave IAT spark Table in as well, how is your cold air coming in? If it's sucking hot air it could be pulling spark.

Your mileage is really not bad... just having fun getting on the freeway can hurt the overall... got to remember that some guys are not accurate as per miles and some tend to exaggerate....

Double check that as well. Even stock tire size is not accurate. What I found was accurate for tires is if the manufacturer has the Revolutions per mile! Same size tire from different companies can be different sizes!

If they were smaller it would read more mpg then, right?

That could be bad for me as mine measure up at 28". Meaning I am getting even worse than I thought?

Well after several more trips I am still pulling a constant 11.5 to 13 mpg I am convenced I need to get tuning software so I can data log and hopefully have my tune modified.

I have quite a build up of soot on anything the exhaust passes over.

I plan to heat wrap my intake where it passes over the radiator hose, but dont think it will make much of a difference.

Truck is currently down for tidying up some wiring and fixing a newly in-op. turn signal. I also just happened to have a rear wheel cyl fail at the same time. Will be giving it new rear brakes and preemptively changing the wheel cyl on the other side.

Just caught up on this. Any more progress? My land yacht got 11-13 highway on 37's on my Kansas trip last year, you've got to be missing something somewhere.

Another guy on here has a 5.3, 3.53 gears and 35" mud tires and get the same milage. No sense.

I have been driving it like a little old lady to see what it will do after a few tanks for the tune to auto adjust.

All I know is this thing is ready to go play at little Sahara!

I'm due for another dune trip. Should have the tow rig fixed in the next few days so I could take the GMC on big tires instead of 37's.
