I'm not saying that mine is right! My drivetrain is not original, so there's no telling what it's supposed to be. However, I don't recall seeing holes on the driver's side of the t-case to bolt a strut to.
My '80 pickup (400/SM465/NP205) didn't have any. I guess with all cast iron parts, you don't get enough flex to need reinforcement.
