Michigan CK5-ers...

I would love to, my wife's been bugging me to take her there, but my truck is down at the moment waiting on some parts for my 205 swap.

WOW!you mean to tell me that TJ and I aren't the only Michiganders on this site?J/K i'd love to go. unfortunately,my project last year didn't even come close to being done.actually,it's the furthest thing from asit sits now,and dd/work truck needs some tweakin' and it'll probably not be done anytime soon.:( maybe next year.have fun though!where's everyone from, anyway?

Buy me gas and I could come visit Michigan , haven't been home in over a decade :(

I plan on visiting in 2008 . Road trip :D

im game,just hit me up.....

It's looking like Moday is going to be the best bet. Lowest chance of showers (30%).

Of course... this being Michigan, that's apt to change at a moment's notice.

I have to do a little thrashing myself. Gotta put the Detroit in the 14bff, hook up the front mount for the winch and fab up a PS bracket.

chosen: what parts do you need for your 205 swap?

jones: I'm in Dearborn Heights

I'm just waiting on my shifter from ORD, then once it is in I need to get a rear d-shaft.

@jones: I'm in Canton

I'd be game - but I don't think that we are observing the "long weekend" at work. Maybe a sick day coming on? Would be nice to meet some of you guys.

Another buddy of mine can't make Monday, so I'm thinking about switching to Sunday.
They open at 12 instead of 8 but, honestly, I probably wouldn't be getting my ass out of bed to get there before 12 anyway. :D

That would also give me a "flex day" in case something majorly bad goes wrong while I'm wheeling. :eek1:

I am actually planning on going skiing. We'll see how that works out!

Good luck with that! Last I heard, nobody has any good snow.
Maybe with these lower temps, it will improve.

movin there soon

What can I expect wheelin wise my truck is set up for wheelin in the mtns. My wife is from flint whats good to do around those parts wheelin wise? Thanks

It's pretty much all mud, ruts and water. Michigan's pretty flat (in case you hadn't noticed).

There's some pretty gnarly spots that I'm planning to steer clear of. Over the years, ther's been lots of good ol' boys digging trenches with their 500+ hp and 44s.

Should be something for everyone, though. Lots of trees to winch to, as well. :waytogo:

yeah I guess Ive noticed the flatness. And the mud wow is there mud. what have you got done to your rig need some help prepparing for good ol' MI. One thing that I do got is a 350-375 HP engine and only running 1/2 ton axels with 37 in tires I dont think they are gonna hang in there all that much longer.

If you're careful, you might be able to get away with 1/2-ton axles.
If you're a fan of the loud pedal, then you're definitely better off with stronger stuff.

Other than that, there's not a lot of prep you need to do for MI. Good tires, good winch and good friends. :D

guess that I had better get a winch for my truck? I havnt been that stuck that I need a winch. I little bit of diggin and gettin dirty gets me out of most places.

I've actually only used my winch to pull out other people. It's nice insurance, though.

It's hard to dig out of mud and water. :D
