In my shop. Doing stuff.
Been bored with the Jimmy and wheeling for a while now. Only wheeled once this year. I will keep the Jimmy but I want to do something different now.

Watching Kurt @cybrfire build his car has got reminiscent of my straight line days.

2 tracks withing 30 minutes of me and one runs every Saturday during the summer months and a few during winter.

There is a 2wd 75 blazer down the road from my house. I have talked to the guy a couple of times, but he is going to restore it some day. Nope. It will rot into the ground where it is.

A friend at church has a cousin who runs with the "dirty south" guys and knew of a Blazer for sale. I was sent a link. Talked to the owner/builder this morning. Very thick southern accent. The truck is now in Tennessee just south of Nashville.

I might have to make a day out of getting out there to look at it. Started out as his stock hunting rig. Then lifted for camping and stuff. Then 10 years ago, went 2wd and this.

Now for not sleeping thinking of the possibilities.

I asked why he was selling it. Said he could get in it when he weighed 250. Can not at all now. And a back surgery put him down.

Cool truck and drag racing is fun, just make sure you keep the Jimmy so we can ride once a year. :D

I like both, and drag racing is less cleanup after than wheeling, and you get to go faster with the same power because its lighter and more traction. But they are both fun!

I like that 2wd.
But I wonder what it would be like to build a good chassis and use fiberglass panels. Would it launch nice and straight and maybe weigh a little less?

I am of the mindset that "I just want to have fun with it". I do not need to be the fastest guy out there anymore. I could not start to build a 406ci, nitrous shot wheel stander for $15k. Has a title. I can street legal it. Claims it is an arrow straight drive on a decent track.

Go for it, looks like fun.

I’ve been itching to own another drag car too however it will never replace the freedom a trail rig brings to my life.

I've been thinking about that same thing myself. I finally have a decently reliable k30, but all I have within an hr of home is a couple dirt roads I've been up and down with most cars I've owned... Including a T-bird.....
Every time I drive the k30 and it's bored BB I find myself doing burnouts instead of offroading lol.
That's why I'm going to BB swap and lower my 2wd burb.
:burnout:

Hope you get that blazer... It's not your monte, but having 2 nice blazers capable of kickin' azz in 2 completely different arenas would be freakin sweet! :thumb:

Been shopping for a C10 and just waiting for the right one money-wise. 4wd is fun but I want a go fast truck..

You are right about not being able to build it for the money. I don't like buying somebody elses basket case but buying a cool driver and then making it yours saves tons of money. There is a ton of fun to be had with a cool fast truck. You can bracket race and not worry about being fastest, just consistent.

Just mashing it down the track on test n tune nights once in a while would be cool even lol.
