military trucks?

yeah the rollers usually go for 300-1000 depending on whats missing

I like the trucks to me its more versatile than a Blazer plus they com with all the heavy duty parts installed just add tires and Sawzall and mix thourly !!!

haha yea im pretty excited though looking forward to getting one taking the axles and whatnot and giving the rest away for very very cheap. who wants to get lucky?

the k5s have 308s i think maybe 373s. all others hav e 456s. if your looking for axles and tcase i dont suggest the m1009 (k5) because even though the military rated them at 3/4 ton there pretty much the same as a civilian. The m1008,m1028,m1010 and m1031 all have a 14b ff in the rear with a detroit, all have a d60 in the front as well but only the 28,10 and 31 have a limited slip in the front. The 31 should have an np205, think the 28has the np205 but i could be wrong, otherwise its the 208.

no it was weird i looked up the vin on one of the blazers and its was in fact one ton i dont want a blazer anyways i already have a 3/4 ton blazer i just thought it was neat that it came from factory like that. i wasnt aware any of them came with limited slip up front

Had to be a VIN error, none of the K5's ever came from the factory with the 60/14. Any that are out there are swapped...

All the K5 M1009's were 10/10's with 3.08's, 6.2 diesel, TH400/NP208.

this is the tag that is in the blazer. when the sixth placement is 3 its one ton from what the book says i honestly dont think it has a 60 and 14 but i just find it strange that the vin is incorrect

7th digit is a 4 though...which indicates 2 door cab. The K5 is identified as a utility body. That VIN is from a M1008, 1010, 1028, 1031.

maybe someone swapped the door and didnt move the plate. Yeah, thought the 09s had 308s. I would look for a 1028 for the locked rear and limited slip up front. Though if you want the 205 i know the 31s have em with pto capability. I was going to get a 28 but i heard the limited slip wears out with alot of use and having it in the front blows in the snow.

yea thats probobly the wrong tag and im looking into a m1008 regular pickup or a utility truck thats a k30

duallys have dana 70's and not all 1028's have 205's haha theres alot of varitions

yeah the 28s are hit or miss with the tcase it seems, but the 31s have the 205. What are swapping the running gear onto to?

M1008
The M1008 is a 1984 K30 pickup with a J code 6.2L diesel, TH400 3 speed automatic, and a NP208 transfer case.

The M1008 has a Dana 60 front axle open and Corporate 14 bolt rear axle with 4.56 gears, detroit locker.

M1031
The M1031 is a 1984 K30 chassis cab pickup with a J code 6.2L diesel, TH400 3 speed automatic, and an NP205 transfer case. The NP205 transfer case is used because it has provisions for a PTO to be installed on the vehicle to power various auxiliary bodies that might be installed.

The M1031 has a Dana 60 front axle and Corporate 14 bolt rear axle with 4.56 gears, a detroit locker in the rear and a limited slip in the front.

Most M1031s are Contact Maintenance Trucks with an aluminum box containing a PTO driven 10KW generator, air compressor and welder. The generator installation has a governor installed on the engine to maintain 1800 RPM to get 60Hz power regardless of load.

Some M1031s had a bed installed and were redesignated M1028A1s

M1028
The M1028 is a 1984 K30 pickup with a J code 6.2L diesel, TH400 3 speed automatic, and a NP208 transfer case. It is primarily used as a shelter carrier and therefore has heavier rear suspension and mounts for a communications box to be installed in the bed.

The M1028 has a Dana 60 front axle with limited slip and Corporate 14 bolt rear axle with 4.56 gears, detroit locker.

The M1028A1 is a 1984 K30 pickup with a J code 6.2L diesel, TH400 3 speed automatic, and a NP205 transfer case. It is primarily used as a shelter carrier and therefore has heavier rear suspension and mounts for a communications box to be installed in the bed. They typically start life as a M1031 chassis cab and have the bed added.

The M1028A1 has a Dana 60 front axle and Corporate 14 bolt rear axle with 4.56 gears, with a limited slip front and detroit locker in rear.

The M1028A2 is a M1028A1 with the addition of dual rear wheels and rear sway bar, all other specs are the same.

The M1028A3 is a M1028 with the addition of dual rear wheels and rear sway bar, all other specs are the same.

M1010
The M1010 is a 1984 K30 chassis cab with a J code 6.2L diesel, TH400 3 speed automatic, and a NP208 transfer case. It is fitted with an ambulance body and a special 200 amp charging system. The rear of the cab is cut to allow passage between the truck cab and ambulance body. The M1010 is also used as a mobile command post and small shop in some units.

The M1010 has a Dana 60 front axle and Corporate 14 bolt rear axle with 4.56 gears, detroit locker.

The M1010 has a special charging system and air conditioning compressor installed to supply the ambulance body with cold air.

The M1010 charging system uses two Leese Neville 100 amp alternators running to an external voltage regulator (the 'blue box') and is prone to having problems maintaining the 12 volt system's charge. Some units removed the system and replaced it with a standard CUCV charging system, with varying degrees of success.

M1009
The M1009 is a 1984 K5 Blazer with a 1 Ton J code 6.2L instead of the normal C code 6.2L diesel and a TH400 3 speed automatic instead of the TH700R4. These modifications were done at the miiltary's request to make all engine/transmission components the same between the 1008 and 1009 trucks.

The M1009 has Corporate 10 bolt axles front and rear with 3.08 gear ratio and a Gov-Lok in the rear. The front axle is open.
