military trucks?

MN is the same way thats were I grew up. I had 6yrs of wonderful experiance driving these trucks in the Airforce i firmly beleive that if you put a set of 36" tires on these things they'd whup the **** out of a Hummer

Its hard to find one in jersey that is any way in good shape

Check the the CK5 classifieds. There are a couple of guys in Jersey who have a ton (pun intended) of these things. 84CUCV is on of the guys who has some complete units.

If I was to find one I think I would do a 8" suspension 3" bl and run a 39.5 boggers that would make a nice little truck for us to play with here

Ya I keep an eye on his stuff he only lives the next town over so I am waiting to c what he brings home lol

man I hate my 8" if it were me I'd run 4" with a zero rate and break out the sawzall

Some rides look good some dont I personally dislike the look of cut fenders I love the way the trucks look exactly from the factory plus me goin to a 8" suspension 3" body is a down grade from where I am at with my current truck 15" suspenion 3"boby lift and 1" zero rates to move the axles

yeah the truck in my Avatar has 12" springs and I hate them to rough riding and no flex I'd cut fender and go with some dropped spring hangers and lifted 56" rear springs up front if I did it over again

my 79 k20 has 8" springs nd they ride worse than the 12" lol I'm guessing you must just do mud out there in NJ

Yes mud is all we do in jersey well All I do.. But I reached a point with my truck that I am to big to just go play with a couple of the locals that run yota's samurais, small chevys on 35's or what not but to small to go play with the big boys bc they run 2 1/2 tons 66" rice and canes or somewhat close to that... So I have thoughts all the time to build something a lil smaller but make it a beast..

Yikes.

The perfect CUCV to me would be an M1028 (or M1008 w. Lock-Rite), 4-6" TCI front springs, 4-6" rear 64" rear springs with the spring hangers moved forward to give it a Blazer WB or SWB. 40" IROKS on H2 rims. Flatbed/Rollcage Bed, Diesel or TBI. Removable Doors.

This "perfect" CUCV can and has been revised on a daily basis but this is where I am going with mine.

Thats so tru people can go all day explaining what they feel would be a "perfect" cucv truck

yeah Mines gonna get a 44 inch boggers on wagon wheels with weld on beadlocks lifted 56" springs up front 4-linked out back Sm465 and a banks turbo for the ole 6.2 and 5.38's a full hydro steering...... or ? LOL

well there were no CUCV suburbans. there were civilian chevys (crew cabs and suburbans) purchased by the DOD

and NO suburban ever came with a 60 front so he's lieing to you or it was swapped in

yeah the 28s are hit or miss with the tcase it seems, but the 31s have the 205. What are swapping the running gear onto to?
my trazer the cab that i have is already government so i dont have to smog it otherwise i would use the cucv cab but there is no need ill just sell it to some other lucky person that wont have to smog
