milwaukee port-a-band & swag off road table kit

what's the all-in price for saw, table, mitre slide and foot pedal?

oh I will small 2 car garage trying to do 2 full projects and K5 with parts every where so space is tight and this fits bill in my book. Big band saw like jet etc would be nice but no room.

eh, I just try to point out it was a good investment... few hundy more than the cheapie Jet's and HF's..

saw off ebay new floor model display few scratches 245 shipped . new in box 279 all day . but new in box = no blade on unit .

Mine actually came with 3 blades when I got it.

I got a wicked deal though. I wanna say they were over $300 for the chordless one when I got mine.

But some dealer was having a "trade in your old chordless tools, and buy one get one free sale". So I talked to my old boss, and I dug out some of the old broken ridged drills we had at work. Sent them in and we split the cost.

So we both got a brand new milwaukee 18v chordless for like $150 each. :woot:

Thinking back on it, I wish we would have bought a bunch more tools too :haha:

But if I can do for under $375 not bad verus least $900 on cold saw and up.

it'll get you by.. understood, no doubt... been there, do it..

but it's not even close in comparison performance-wise... you'll eat dozens of blades, etc in the time I go thru one, bigger material, consistent angles, etc.....

Well seeing as how much chop saw was free and my portaband was 160 used+ I built my own table = more free money to go to my rig

well, you rule than....

lol I wasn't meaning to have it come off like that. I think its just every tool has a different purpose and some people have personal preferences. Perfect example.

I bought a hypertherm hypermax 600 about a year ago. I hated it. Free hand plasma cutting is a skill I dont not posses. Some do and do amazing work but I dont so I sold it bought a portaband and built a table (because im cheap) and couldnt be happier but (for me) its not the end all be all in my shop.

Quick hijack on that....

Plasma cutter with drag tips, use a piece of angle iron for straight cuts. So much win..... I can make brackets and parts in 1/10th the time.

I bought it for curves and angles. I use the trusty hand grinder for straight cuts. For me in not about time, it's about quality which I wasn't getting (once again me personally) with the plasma cutter so it hit the road.

agreed, I have my plasma, but it as specific things I find it useful for.. slag-free cut's, not so much for me... rough-cutting some crazy fishmouth on a tube? yeah, I'll rough it out with that... but it's a $500 Parker, maybe it doesn't cut as well as a $2000 miller/Hypertherm, etc.... it'll cut straight with a guide, but ya still need to grind it a fair bit..

I haven't touched my sparkfest chopsaw since I got the bandsaw... built my whole current tubebed with the new saw... but, I also built my whole first cage in the K5 with that old Rigid chopsaw.. ya get by with what ya have at the time...

heck, I remember building hotrods in a rock driveway with visegrips and a 3/8 drill... :pimp: :haha:
