but what do you run to the heater? being it's barbed...

Not quite there yet. I plan on making my own hoses from braided line. I did it for my trans coolers. AN fittings on the trans and one cooler was AN fitting and the other was barbed.

They are also available in barbed on one side.

Couldn't you just use a AN fitting or a brass NPT to barbed fitting. I can't tell what thread that is but there has to be an adaptor to go from that to a barb.

sure, but why bother adapting, the one I posted is set up perfectly... it's just too bad the heater is a fixed barb setup and not an NPT port... than you could run AN on both sides...

I think I am going to do the grommet thing just so I dont have to worry about other places for leaks. Not that it would probably be an issue (plus I am cheap)! I have seen barb to barb ones but they were hard to find. Ill see if I can find the link.

actually the one i posted was about 50 smackers too iirc...

a grommet setup should be fine if your gonna run rubber hose the whole way.. thats how i did mine on the initial install...

Yep! Going rubber all the way, just found the grommets on the same site i posted for $4 for 4 and FREE shipping !!!!

bringing this back up as I have yet to get this heater installed. i just started thinking of ways to mount it. anyone have installed pics?

I sent an email to DanHard just to see what their's cost. It seems like a unit like that would maybe work a little better for my situation. I am planning on either building my own dash or going with Kerts as well so that may make it alot easier to get this thing hidden away.
Especially if I make a center console and dash unit, I can mount the mojave where ever and route some tubing to my defrost and floor vents.

I used the Danhard heater on my 72 build thread. I purchased mine from JC Whitney. Wait until they have a 20% sale and then buy it. I get emails from them all the time for 10-20 % off. I will send you the code when I get it if you want.

I will post some pics on the install later when I get home tonight.

that would be cool. i am going to get this one mounted up all ghetto fabulous so I have at least some heat. but eventually i would like for it to not be ghetto.

Here's some pics of my install. I attached the supplied brackets to my roll cage and used a wire and round terminal to attach it to the firewall to distribute some of the weight off the front.

I used all -10 AN fittings and a -10 AN fitting on the firewall. The hose is Summits twist-lock.

I also bought the heater install kit which contained the control valve and switch. It was mounted in a separate box but I adapted it to my dash setup.

Yea your install looks great. I think ive decided to go ahead and run all the heat through the defrost vents. It will just make it easier on me install wise. Once I pick up Kert's dash then I will use some vents as well as defrost.
