More emissions BS. 88 blazer failed DEQ***PASSED***

The big thing was the o2 sensor in closed loop was at like .2v and staying there. As a result, the BLM for in the few areas we captured was in the 133-138 range. So, whether the truck is actually running lean, or the o2 sensor just thinks it is, the truck is adding fuel to correct what the o2 is seeing. We came to the conclusion to just change the o2 sensor and fuel filter and go from there.

New O2 is in, as is a new fuel filter. Of course the fuel filter seemed just fine, no junk in there, could easily blow through it. Hopefully the O2 does the trick, hope to hit up the DEQ tomorrow

Mitch, thanks again, man. :thumb: And nice clean install on the 5.3!

Thanks man! Good luck! Remember to keep the rpm up as much as possible if you sit in line to try and keep everything hot!

Passed!!!

Get her passed today. Pretty save to say it was the O2 sensor that did the trick. Passed well under this time with HCs being 160 with 220 being the max alowable.

Thanks again, Mitch, for the use of your winaldl software :thumb:

What else is I bet you pick up a mpg or two now also since the computer is no longer adding in needed fuel.

I was thinking that on the way home. I already get 13-14 hwy too. I'll take all i can get these days. If I get some time, I'll swing by again...

i have no idea how old the one i pulled out was. I replaced it with a bosch...

that article y5mgisi gave a link for says that unheated O2s should be replace every 30-50k. and it also said that 70% of all vehicles that failed emissions, needed a new O2 sensor

Nice! Thats not bad at all! You could afford to replace it as maintenance every couple years at that!

Yeah, if i'd a known i'd have replaced it first. Oh well, did a mostly unneeded tune up to boot
