Flex isnt everything.........so is pussy and i wouldnt change it. haha no but that is sick. i just have to say my 56's flex alot more than that bro.
for rock crawling?? um i think it is??? that and gearing. but you dont want a stiff suspension for rocksFlex isnt everything.........
Ya, I wouldnt know anything about rock crawling.for rock crawling?? um i think it is??? that and gearing. but you dont want a stiff suspension for rocks
I said nothing about a stiff suspension either.
sorry. but yea linked is sweet, its just i could think of other things i could do with 1k ya know?o i thought we were talking about rockssorry. but yea linked is sweet, its just i could think of other things i could do with 1k ya know?
I vote for links
I did my front for about $600 and love it. The rear will cost even less.
Most guys run leaf suspension, but face it thats 100 year old tech.
Everybody should be linked IMO.

It's 100 year old tech that works fine. I have seen your link set up and to be honest I am not impressed with that set up for crawling. I think this is a much better set up.

Wayne....youre not impressed?
Well **** son why did I go through all that trouble
Fact is I built my rig as a multi purpose vehicle.
Is that toy you posted a dual purpose or trail only rig?
Im gonna go out on a limb and say trail only.
My truck can tow my 71 Camaro (or anything else I feel like loading on my trailer) at 75+MPH.
Drive daily 20 miles to work (and ride and handle excellently on ****ty NJ roads)
Wheel on weekends on trails in mud and up hills.
Not many rocks here in NJ.
But Im headed to Rausch Creek on Feb 28th, ll post some pics
The OP asked me to post pics of my setup. So if you werent impressed, rest assured that was never my intention.
If you read what I wrote, I said for crawling and that was my oponion. Don't get your panties in a wad and read deeper into it then needed.
X2 I love my set up(56's). it's not too soft, but still gets lots o flex. Linked is a great way to go for sure....if you have the equipment and money. 56's and 52's are a new spin on old tech in my opinion.do 56's up front. its cheap and easy and it flexes like hell!! what you do it take off your front springs, leave the rear shackle where it is just put 7.25" shackles on it. then move the front hanger up. use the front holes as the back holes and drill new ones farther up. this will give you 5" of lift and LOTS of flex!!
that you did. i think linked is an awsome idea and works great, its just not for me at this time. my rig is for wheelin only. the only pavement it sees is the 15 miles to hollister hills. i have seen ppl linked and they have less flex than me. so for the time and money it costs, its not worth it IMO. now if you need 15" of lift, sure link it. but for 4-6" and a cheap build, why not use springs?Fact is I built my rig as a multi purpose vehicle.

alright now i gotta know what happened over at pirate. link plez?according to him in the chevy section of Pirate... when he got flamed like crazy for the ****ty setup...
alright now i gotta know what happened over at pirate. link plez?
Even with that said, they still are not strong enough. You do not want these mounts failing on you at 65 mph or while going around a curve...
What he's sayin is.... You're going to Die in a firey crash!
wow.
to paraphrase Ron White:
"I dont know how long itll take this piece of **** to make it to the crash site, but Im willing to bet we beat the paramedics there by a half hour!"
rethink this.
please.
ect..ect..ect..
I link this so anyone who stumbles onto this thread will realize that yes link suspensions are great. However there is a right way and many wrong ways to do them. Odin does not know $hit about link suspension so dont take that example for what to do.
