Whats the most flexable amount of lift you would suggest 4" or 6" (used for rocks and in the woods through ditches)? I will cut to make the tires fit so no worries there.

New to site, just read it, looks like a great idea. Gonna build an inexpensive (if there is such a thing) fun rig. Doesn't have to be the badest thing on the block. Wantin to go 60f/14r locked, 205, 400HD, elec. fan for rad. 383, black steel wheeled, 42" tired, with cut to fit metal, gutted, shackle flipped, flat tan colored primered licensed for road, caged, fun truck. Any suggestions?

Skip the 205 unless doing a doubler. Go with either a Stak or Atlas if your going with a single t case or you can get a KluneV for in front of the 205. Oh yeah, inexpensive with locked 1 tons, 383, and 42's.:haha:It's a snowball affect.

Well everything is relative, if he doesn't link it it's still inexpensive

Thanks for the feedback, thats the kind of advice I need on the T-case. About the snowball affect, well it is a project. I can go different routes here, could go the new route and then put all kinds of money and not have what I want and not want to take it out in the mud, or buy a project that somebody gave up on that has a bunch of good parts in it, and re-do/rebuild a bunch of stuff, or buy a beat to sh*t one that has a good frame and tub and put good stuff in it. I think the buy a beat one or a cheap one that somebody is tired of workng on or what have you is the way to go.

do 56's up front. its cheap and easy and it flexes like hell!! what you do it take off your front springs, leave the rear shackle where it is just put 7.25" shackles on it. then move the front hanger up. use the front holes as the back holes and drill new ones farther up. this will give you 5" of lift and LOTS of flex!!

No lnk in mind, I've seen what leafed trucks can do out on the trail (not pro rock clmbing) and a leaf sprung truck/jeep/truggy can do some pretty amazing things. Just gotta run those 44 inchers and off set the springs up front so shear rock face doesn't hit the spring packs up front. I've seen this in action on a huge rock face.

If you want to run 44's, you better think about bling bling axle shafts, joints, hubs, and knuckles, into the budget.

Roger that!, I know a stocker 60 won't do it, 14 out back will hold up with detroit, but front gonna need some new innerds along with a detroit (ran a couple of blazers in Saudi with lockers front/rear), I like detroits, my buddy ran a jeep/ford 9" F/R and detroited, never had an issue running detroits front on anything, they unlock and rachet.

Gonna keep that suggestion and put it in the play book. I like that, I may have a question or 3 for you in the future. Thanks a lot.

I vote for links:D

I did my front for about $600 and love it. The rear will cost even less.

Most guys run leaf suspension, but face it thats 100 year old tech.
Everybody should be linked IMO.

yeah its the source of a rather heated thread over on pirate lol

Odin, don't be a hater, it's been around cause its cheap and it works. It's like using this new fangled can opener instead of this one ya gotta twist and twist. In the end you get to the same place. The rocks won't care what I have and neither will I, especially after a few brewski's:D
