Motor Swap - Complete!

Afraid of that. Wish i hadn't gotten dragged to the bar tonight. Up early tomorrow to dress the new block, and drop it in.

Just realized i can't install the plugs until after the torque converter is hooked up. And installing the plugs with the headers on suuuuccckkks. Installation from below, for sure.

We'll see. Sounds like most accessories, and headers are still going on pre-hoist.

You can turn the engine with the plugs in. I NEVER take them out.

Plugs, like spark plugs? From below? You trippin! A plug sockrt and a 3" extension gets all 8 easy from up top. I couldnt imagine doing them from below! I guess maybe the headers ypu have make a socket not possible.

Ok, first hiccup. What is this? And what is it called? I broke it trying to pull it off the drivers rear of valve cover.

Oil pressure sending unit. Grounds through adapter, or ok to seal threads?

It was the breather gasket opposite the Pcv.

Ran block numbers...... It's numbers matching. 260k on original motor.

Well, motor is in.

Mostly through installation of everything else.

Fighting the messed up threads on one of my fuel lines into the TBI, need to hand file the threads tmr :doah:

Besides that though, its been going alright. I'm totally exhausted, but glad that the tough part it over. Once i get the TBI fuel line thread thing done, and stop fighting my PS pulley installer, it should be smooth sailing.

Last minute easter plans are gonna hurt progress tomorrow though . We'll see how far i get. May have to take a "personal day" monday to wrap it up, as my bmw just blew a clutch line :doah:

Thanks for the help guys.

Ok, the TBI fuel line fittings are F'd.

I had cross threaded them in the past a bit, and they were messed up to start with. Added to being tired when i went to assemble it last night, the return line fittings are toast. Both the TBI adapter, and the hard return line on the truck :(

So, i'm hoping the decent auto parts stores have the dorman "fuel line repair kits" to replace the one on the hard line, and need another TBI fitting.

Anyone local have an extra TBI fitting? I REALLY need to get this thing fired up today. Do any good parts stores carry them? If i can find one local, great. Just don't think anyone carries them, and don't have time to order.

Thanks!

PNP is but I might have one. When I come back from church I will check

Thanks Issam! Let me know. Its the return side one.

I MAY be able to get the adapter piece i have to rethread with a new fuel line....but i doubt it.

I really need the adapter and a piece of fuel line to make this happen.

Junk yard bro.

Ok, i think you win . May take tomorrow off work, and go do some junk yard hunting. Don't like the idea to just get the TBI fitting i can order, but if i can grab a line all the way back to the fuel filter, it may be worth it.....
