Mountain Truck Build

For a while I made a good side business with cucvs. We would buy to fix up and sell. We had a basic understanding before that but going through about 40 1009,1028, 1008 and 1031s. You sort of get used to the exentricities.

This is like a nudie magazine... Words, words, more words... where are all the pictures?!? o_0

Well. Today I learned that Toyota Tacoma wheels will not fit our trucks without a spacer. Rim contacts the tie rod end. Buddy of mine decided that he is going to use them and traded me a full set of rally wheels with caps and beauty rings. Ordered need tires too. Going to a 33-12.50-15 on factory rally wheels. Have them in on Thursday.

Found out why the diesel sounded so smooth idling. Its retarded about a half inch from centerline. That will get rectified with a quickness.

While I want to keep this truck as stock as possible it is a given that here in MontAna a winch isn't an option. If I can't find a good old school warn bumper soon I'm going to do a hidden winch behind the stock bumper. I really wanted something in the way of the grill and a deer but you don't always get what you want.

Great falls? That's where I used to tear stuff up. I lived out in the coulee. Can't remember where exactly we went drift busting but we called it "old logging creek" it's not the real logging creek road.

I know where your talking about. I am actually east of great falls in the mountains. The local offroad club uses my 2 mile long driveway for their "trail rides" from time to time. Mall crawler extravaganza. Talked to a guy couple years back that had a jeep he had never put into 4wd until that day. Lifted and fully loaded but all for show.

Every vehicle we nave is 4x4. Even in summer you can't get up my driveway without it! Sometimes its sketchy and sometimes just plain impossible. When jet gets bad we snow machine down the mountain anx park a truck on the county road.

Can we get a picture of said "driveway"?!
Its all in the trees but I can try. Hard to get the feel of it in a picture. Imagine 2 miles at about a 15 percent grade. With 11 switchback turns no barriers or anything to keep you on the road. Solid rock or grade on one side and nothing on the other.

Sounds like a nice piece of property!

You should start your restoration by straightening your bent hood ornament... :haha:

I will say I am liking flatbeds more and more though, supreme for hauling big shit w/o a trailer.
