of course he's not going to come out and see it and say he hates it... but it was definatly all show and no go as far as function goes
I wish just once that some =one would be honest when they see what a colorful mess they now own...
I'd strip all the tv's and speakers out and sell em and buy the parts I need. I cant ever watch that show, they never fix what's wrong with the car. "oh you got 20 tv's but seriously dont drive it you'll die"
I am sure they fix the neccesities, but that wouldn't make for good tv. But i'm with stoney sell all that sh*t and get some REAL parts. Only in California! It looked better before they "pimped" it. At least then it was still a truck.

I still lurk around here every once in a while. Been doing pretty good.
Just shoe horned a set of 33's under my 4Runner with a hammer, no lift.
Thinking of running up to Dixie Run in the morning. Read BigJBear was thinking of showing up. Lost his e-mail and I'm not registered here so I can't shoot a PM to him. See if I can catch up with him up there.

So, I'll be there the weekend before, but I'm out of vacation time now.

they ****ed that rig up. On the other hand, the guy could ebay it... or sell all the electronic crap off of it... and the rig seperately... and make enough $$$ to buy a bad azz 1-ton rig.

I can empathise, I pretty much had to book time off to get my Jimmy back on the road. Backwood camping is a blast...it sure doesn't have to be hardcore rocks to be fun.

I wanted my Pontiac on the road form my Birthday next week....You name it I had an issue. Motor mount holes I needed not drilled (the motor came out of a 78 Formula 400). Ends of the transmission cross member rusted off so I need to fix that. My $150 Saginaw 4 speed I picked up to replace my Muncie 3 has the wrong shifter for my car. The right shifter in any kind of shape is $300 on ebay. Hurst stopped making them in 79. So the Muncie 3 will end up back in the car for a while
Had the 70 fly wheel turned and ready to go. Read an article about lining up bell housing and they make comment to the 78 motor they are dropping into a 72 car and the fly wheel hold is different size...Of course I go look and mine has the same issue so $280 I need to drop to fix that. My 70 heads were the low ends and the exhaust manifolds won't work on the 78 6x's so a set of headers now and when I change out for the edlebrock heads they are Ram air III style so ANOTHER set of headers then.
God know if the brakes are salvageable after sitting nearly 8 years.
I need it running so it can get out of the garage so I can set up my wood working tools to rebuild the cabinets for the toaster.

My 'fun' began when i found a great deal on some alcan's that were near new for $600. 6" fronts and 2.5" rears. I bought them without much forethought and once they got here I realized just throwing them under the truck wasn't going to happen. Both ends are pushed out 1.5" plus they are very flexy springs so right away I figured I'd need bumps and extended brakelines as well as new drivelines. With the cost of drivelines that aren't stock being what they are I only wanted to have new ones built once, so i figured I'd finally rebuild the NV4500 I've had laying around for almost 5 years. I didn't want to run an aluminum T-case which meant having a 205 bored and fit with a 32 spline input plus a redrill so it'd bolt up to the NV4500. I convinced myself that once I was that far into it a doubler wasn't much more.
All this started 2 years ago when I got the springs...with the parts buying happening over the last year. If it kills me the tranny and T-cases will be in the truck by Monday morning so I can get the measurements for the drivelines and get them before my vacation is done.
Right now I'm fighting a fitment problem between my starter and the AA bellhousing. Looks like I'm gonna have to clearance the bell to suit.
Really, all i wanted was a nicer ride...

Oldest turned 14 on Tuesday. She is having a slumber party right now.
Another nail in the coffin for me. I wanted to go to bed nice and early and get on the road to Telico early but not with a bunch of 13 and 14 year old squealing and going "Snap" and OMG! every 45 seconds. Trying to remember where my straight razor is so I can put myself out of my misery
I seemed to recall your kids and mine were pretty close in age. My oldest is like, you know, almost like, 13 now, you know...
