Muffler of choice?

I run Warlocks. They're quieter than a 50 series Flowmaster when capped off, but they're loud as hell un-capped which I like. They'd be even louder if I didn't have cats though

If I had cats, I wouldn't even run mufflers.

I have headers, 2 1/4" pipe, and 12" glasspacks.

Lovin' my dual 3 chamber flowmasters!! Just loud enough, but doesn't really piss people off.

all this talk about 40 50 60 series and 2 chamber 3 chamber what is that all about and how do u know what kind of flow masters u got cause my friend has a nice sound out of his ram charger with flows and i was thinking about get them help me out if u guys could thanks.....

Well in my opinion Flowmaster two chambers are the best sounding mufflers when used with headers. They are just not good for long commutes in my opinion.

Anyone else have a favorite muffler that flows and is fairly quiet?

Straight cats with large tips (reasonable sized, not super ricer sized) sound really deep and mellow. I love the crap out of the sound

One word MAGNAFLOW. Half the cost of Borla and almost the same sound. Straight through so it flows great, and is alot quiter than two chambers. Also builds more power.

That's basically what my setup is. When the warlocks are uncapped all I have to muffle sound are the cats

My Flowmaster 70 series work good. It is quiet at idle and at freeway speeds. But when I accelerate they sound..... well......Like Flowmasters !! Which is great.
I am using them with headers and no cat.

The 70 series big block with a 3" pipe all the way back is what I just put on my Chevy Tahoe and it sounds great. The sound is a low tone and isn't too loud, if you want something quite consider that set up. Give Flowmaster a call and talk to a rep, they will set you up with what you want good luck,

Check out your JC Whitney, We know you have one somewhere. They have got this huge RV muffler, thats 3" strait through and fully welded outside case. I put one of these on a Dodge and after the owner started it up he tried to start it again because we could not hear it running. As for flow you can see almost strait through the inside and he started getting better mileage, even with stock 2 1/2" pipes to the inlet then a 3" coupling to the muffler with a 3" turndown. As soon as I get ready to do my exaust, I am going with these.

Hey everyone thank you for the great response and advice.

One question, How much quieter would my exhaust get if I added 20" or so glasspacks? Would they even be worth adding?

The exhaust is brand new so I hate the thought of pulling the Flows I just bought.

Again my setup is headers, no cats, duals with a cross pipe, two chamber Flows, 2.5 inch pipe.

Thanks
