For sure. After many years with a dual system I liked, one of the tailpipes fell off on a road trip. Since the other one was also rotting out, I ended up cutting it off to match by just clamping on some turn-downs after the mufflers. Then it was so loud we couldn't talk in the truck anymore. Wife asked if we could stop somewhere along the way and have new tailpipes made. One thing though. Put tailpipes on those mufflers whatever you choose. I've heard so many folks gripe about the sound when they are dumping under the truck right off the mufflers. Tailpipes help quiet loud mufflers. Plus you don't have the sound pointing right at the ground to be bounced right back up again.
You might be surprised how adding pipes might tone it down.
