My 5.3 swap thread!

use the fuel line fittings posted before to mount to the rails, not the one in your fancy drawing. The screw together ones are much safer to use.

I believe this is what he used. Regardless, this is what most swaps are using.

These ones! Man! I dont know how i missed that they were threaded retainer! THats awesome! I have never seen those before! Im going to get those ones!

Just looking at Teck's swap again. I assure you that under no circumstances will my swap look so awesome! I dont think i have have the patience that guy has! Wish i did though. His truck is beautiful!

Thanks again, some of it does get a little tedious a times.
I used a connection on getting my motor. For an '07 LMG 5.3,it was $2000.00 complete with computer and wiring. I do have to rewire it and tune it. One good thing is that I already have EFI Live for my duramax

I used these fitting at the tank from summit
EAR-9894DBH female 14mm x 1.5 to AN6
EAR-9894DBJ female 16mm x 1.5 to AN6
And this one at the motor
RUS-640853 fuel rail fitting 3/8" to AN6

Yep i just get to where i can see the light at the end of the tunnel and start running towards it! Folks like you can see that light and still keep calm and know that at least when you get to the end of the tunnel, you'll look good when you get there! Thats not to say that im a hack or anything. I have patience when it counts for the most part. Im somewhere between a hack and a Teck! Thats a good deal for a complete 07 motor! are you going to try to rewire it yourself or send it out? Will EFI live allow you to tune stuff like VATS and rear o2's out? Would be pretty handy to be able to do your own programing! Thanks for the part numbers also!

Another thing about the fuel lines, i would like to use the black nylon wrapped stuff so as to keep it as hidden as possible and therefore stock looking. Any tips on what hose i should use?

I have a guy her local that is going to help/ do the wiring and the tune. They use EFI Live so we will just use mine to tune it sense I already have a licenses available for it. This way I don't have to just go back to them to change anything later. And save some money too.

That looks like what I'm after! Thanks Teck! Fraid I'm going to have to sell one of my trucks to finish this one with the price of fuel lines!

Just for fun here is that guys CL add.

wow, $1000 for a complete runner?!? best quote I've gotten around here (SLC, UT) is $1300 with no accessories. for that price, I may have to talk to him about shipping!

can't wait to hear how it goes when you hear it running.

In fairness, story goes that this is one that he was going to use himself but decided to go with a duramax and that's why he is letting it go so cheap. Also, have you tried eBay? Quite a bit on there for around 1000+ shipping for a complete but not yet modified.

when I get closer to pulling the trigger, I'll look at a lot more options, ebay being one of them. I'm just nervous about spending that kind of cash for something I may not hear run for months after the purchase.

I got a LQ9 6.0 and a 4L80 trans with all accessories, harness, and computer from a good salvage yard around me for $1200.

I'm pretty sure your 90 should already have stainless braided line connections to the tank and from fuel rail to the motor. The tbi hardline is rated well above mpfi pressures. If you decide to go that route at least.

Yep. Trouble is they arent quite long enough and the connections are wrong at the fuel rail end. So, its easiest and safest to go with the nice Russel fittings and adapt the lines over from where the stock braided lines begin near the trans. The stuff at the tank can be left alone.
