My '70 C/10 - The Rat Bastard... [Won't Idle.]

just had to post that, I've seen a million guys over the yr's, "oh, run a tap down those threads" not even knowing there is such a tool as threadchasers...

yes, it will clean them out of junk, but it is also the improper tool and can cause play in said threads by cutting thread sidewall when used as a thread chaser...

obviously taps, are probably the better first purchase, and can be used as a chaser in a pinch.. i just like people to be aware it's not the best approach...

and for a job like that, nothing beats having a fresh quality bit that will cut good..

I certainly appreciate it, Paul. :D

And, for specialty tools like that, I always buy quality.
Sh*t.... My Vice grips are Vice Grips, my Channel locks are Channel-Lock, etc.

What's the good word on Taps, and Chasers?

eh, taps, Irwin seem to be a popular choice these days...

chasers, I have Mac's.. i think most are the same red case set up, not sure who's making em for everyone...

this is the snappy, but they all look the same...

Looking good!

When ya gonna have it rolling?

I need to get that broken off header-bolt, out of the head.
My buddy with the taps and chasers has been busy... Journeymen. :rolleyes: :haha:

Once that bolt is out, the headers get torqued, the frame gets clearanced;
Then, the whole powertrain goes in. :pimp:

After that, it's just driveshaft install, brakes, Carb install, linkages, fluids, and tuning.
So, I'd say VERY soon. :popcorn:
