My '70 C/10 - The Rat Bastard... [Won't Idle.]

Correct me if I'm wrong but with an msd box you aren't supposed to hook up the Bat+ terminal on the distributor. All power to the coil goes through the box on the B+ and C- terminals.

how about posting the MSD wiring diagram pdf from the website that pertains to this box/install?

Its my actual ignition switch wiring...

The wire that 'should be' my Acc. Wire, is somehow my starter cranking wire...
And, the wire that 'should be' my starter wire, does nothing when 12v is applied.

I dunno what I goofed on, but it has to be simple,
And it has to be somewhere between the Ignition Switch, and the Starter.

this was part of a wiring harness change right?

Correct.... Swapped for POS, "EZ" wiring harness.
ANYTHING BUT EASY.... And, I've done this sh*t before!!! :doah::popcorn:

I tried calling AGAIN... But, for the 15th time, they didnt answer.
I hear that theyre REALLY helpful.... WHEN YOU GET AHOLD OF THEM.

:haha:

Tomoro, after I get them on the phone and ask what the problem may be,
Im gonna trace the wires back, and fix this sh*t.

But, I swear I did everything by the diagrams, as per the instructions.
Theres no damned way I spliced the wires wrong....
Although that is what it seems like. :doah:

I'd bypass the MSD completely at this point.

It's just another variable to diagnose on a truck with too many unsorted issues....

Once things are running and stable, hook the MSD back into the mix.

Just my $.02

I think he had it right when it was running for almost a minute.
Something else is shutting it down.
I think I am going there myself...

I fixed it!!!!

B&M's neutral safety/reverse light switch instructions are WRONG.
I placed a call to EZ wiring and told the tech my issues.
After 3 quick questions, we had it down to the NSS.
Sure enough, the reverse light power was running the starter.

Swapped em, and she runs good now.Well... It does this:
*I say "backfire", but mean "misfire".... And, yes. I did trip over my own foot. :haha:
