We should all get together and work on my blazer!

Or drink a bunch of beer and stare at it...:D

Drinking beer is always great for getting started...it's the finishing that seems to be left out after a few. Any of you south end guys know of a reasonable Dana 60 front w/456's laying arround? Only a few on CL lately and these guys want a mint for them...always reading how guys on this site find them so readily in the mid-west and east side of the country...seem hard to come by arround the PNW.

I've been toying with the idea of just swapping some Dana 44 hubs onto my front 10 Bolt until I find a decent deal on a 60. My rig is more of a street and mountain road/exploring rig at this time...I was a bit surprised to learn that a Dana 44 out of a 3/4 ton really isn't any stronger than the 10 bolt. Want to run the 8-lug wheels I got for the 14 bolt FF i'm putting in the rear.

Any ideas?

I know a guy that has a few of them, same condition I got mine in. It was all rusted over with about 25k miles on them. He had three last summer, two after I grabbed one. I paid 900 for mine, perfect operating shape, just all rusted over with 4:56's. If that sounds like the right price for you let me know and I can get you in touch with him.

Also no progress on the blazer today, spent it doing then re doing the brakes on my wifes burban. Got everything done, then the ****ing bleeder valve screws broke off in the front calipers. Anywho, for a 3/4 ton suburban that thing sure stops on a dime now. Thinking about doing a disc conversion to the rear, but I am not sure about loosing the E-brake. I think at some point i may need a stout e-brake on that thing and im not sure the caddy ones would be up to it.... also i want a power programmer for it.... and an fipk... and a supercharger...

Sounds great us74k5...I would like to be able to talk to him about picking one up. Can you contact him to see if he has one or PM me and I'll call him?

Thank you.

Time to trade her in

Well, the original plan for this truck was to build a rig that I could wheel with the family and take camping, etc. Its sad to say, but I kinda exceeded the needs. Me and the wife have been talking about it, and decided to try to trade her off for a late model blazer (87-91). We would love a diesel, but would consider gassers too. If you guys know anyone that has a nice 80's-91 rig, lemme know! I am looking to do a straight across trade.

(just in case you guys are wondering, she is wanting the creature comforts of a newer rig, and the ability to put a car seat in it, and she thinks its too big now, lol...)

I hate to see her go man you were really starting to put together a nice truck and with that propane tank in back you could go for days:o

Took her out today.

Went on the first wheeling trip today, to Elby ORV park. Lost my exhaust, front driveshaft, and a whole lot of coolant! But, Ended up pullin a couple people out, found out that i can go quite a few places with 2wd thanks to that locker and my tires. Guess the best part is that she got me there and back. Also ran into quite a few really cool people. Anywho... Ive got some work to do...

Exhaust, finally.

Got the exhaust done, went from the headers to dynomax mufflers and cut out in front of the tires. Guy only charged me $200. Was about 50% cheaper than any other place around here. Did a great job too. If any of you guys up here in the Tacoma area need some exhaust work let me know and I will put you in touch with him.

Sounds great us74k5...I would like to be able to talk to him about cleaning up my exhaust. Can you contact him to see if he has one or PM me and I'll call him?
