My 86 K5 build

Have you mocked up the weld on DIY4X bumpstop brackets yet? I moved mine forward on the frame to match the axle being forward. I don't know if you can tell from the pic below but I put the backside of the vertical weld on piece directly over the factory rivet hole.

I also wound up redrilling the bottow of the slide in piece to inboard the bump stops a bit more. The hole from DIY4X seemed to put the bump into the u-bolt nuts too much like seen below.

I have not mocked them up yet. That will be next on the to-do list (probably this weekend). I was looking at pics of your set up with them and was planning on doing exactly what you did

Installed my DIY4x adjustable bump stops. Already had poly 4" bumps from ORD, but these weld-on adjustable brackets from DIY4x are so freaking sweet, and are an awesome price. Very, very happy with these. The only part that sucked was getting the factory mounts off...stupid pop rivets

And yes, I am one of those guys who cuts up brand new tires that I haven't even been on one trail with yet

Was able to do all 4 with my groover I bought when I did my SX's in 3 hrs

Being a n00b to this whole thing, I have been wondering, what is the purpose of carving up a mudder tire? I see that a lot. Increases traction on wet pavement?

Those look good cut up.

Thanks

It's b/c I won't be running these in the mud all that often, they will be in the rocks. Most say once they groove boggers for lateral traction, they work pretty darn good in the rocks. Without the grooving, they like to slip sideways off rocks with the huge long lugs. Oh, and this thing will never see pavement :D

I don't have any experience actually running cut boggers but they are definitely one of my favorite looking cut tires. Best tire I have ever run performance-wise was TSL SXs but I haven't run my Pitbull Rockers yet and I have a feeling they will be my new favorite.

I was planning on getting some of those bumps from Kert, thanks for sharing the pics.

and the Boggers look good grooved.

Yeah boggers have good curb appeal, and grooving them will definitely help. Your booggers are softer than mine so they should perform better in the rocks.

You know... you keep saying you only do rocks, but as I flip through your build, there sure seems to be a lot of mud/snow and loose stuff.

If you have a muddy, rocky trail a grooved bogger works pretty good.

Very true. That's why I feel like going with the boggers were a good choice for me. Especially the ones I got that are softer so should be a really good "all around/all season" tire for me in CO

Update: Went to Blazer Bash 2015 in Moab, UT with my brother, kayjef. It was an amazing trip! We did a solid 6 days of wheeling in a row. Did Poison Spider, Steel Bender, Area BFE (Brittany Spears, Drop Kick, Lockjaw, Minor Threat, Green Day, and maybe a few more), Pritchett Canyon, Goldbar Rim, and Rusty Nail. I only broke my track bar on the first day, so just took it off and wheeled the rest of the week without it. With no rear track bar, and my rear shock set up being an absolute joke, I had some serious wheel hop (will get track bar back on and plan to change up my shocks). But other than that no mech issues at all. It was a freaking awesome trip.

Here are some random pics (in no order whatsoever). Enjoy! :grinpimp:

This is how we rolled around Moab the whole week
