My best friends girl...

Long story....
as a ex tire guy i would do 2 and 2 if you have to do this . and mark them so you can keep them on the same axle . ex: 2 front or 2 rear .

That’s what I may end up doing,.....I’ve found some online available for $238??!! another company has em for $50, but out of stock. It’s irritating I had the 4th one when I purchased them,....but it was a 6 hour drive home (was on a work trip and found them in the town I was at) and I noticed I only had 3, about four hours into the trip back home. I didn’t think it would be that hard to find a 4th one. But apparently they are gold.

Waiting for crossover steering, PVC inserts, driveline flanges and other little stuff to come in this week so I can take it on a test run and hopefully go camping this next weekend....... got my kids to help me get the Brakes and hydro clutch bled, replaced the motor mounts, pretty trashed.....went to try to fire up the motor after little over 13 months of sitting, no crank....checked column wires I replaced, and fuses, no power to starter. Then thought, maybe the new motor mounts could be the reason,....hooked up a temp ground wire from battery to frame and truck fired up!! Lol. The old motor mounts were so bad, they were actually making a good ground from frame to motor. Apparently they have been like that since I swapped the motor about 16 years ago cuz I’ve never had an issue starting it. Haha! Being a teenager and having my friends helping me......... They should have been replaced then.

All this week I got the crossover steering in, new speedo cable, put in the HAD flanges and bolted up the SD shaft (Drilled our rear yoke to convert to Ubolts instead of straps),... I think the angles are pretty close without having to cut and reposition the perches. I have a non-digital angle finder and it’s showing the shaft and pinion are within 2*. I may order a digital to be certain. But I’m hoping I just got lucky.
decided to use a run flat in the other tire while I’m waiting for my TWF inserts to come in next week. I just couldn’t wait to drive it.
Also had a hell of a time bleeding the clutch. Then finally got it!!
everything greased up, fluids checked, brakes work, truck tailgate bolted on,...... After almost 14 months in the garage, got to take it on a test run yesterday. Just in time for our camping trip this weekend with the family!!!
It rides so much better than before. Steering is great, no vibrations, got it up to 50 so far.... The 56s in the rear are so soft. Tuff country fronts are a lot softer than the skyjackers, hoping they break in a little and match the rear. Overall very happy!! Still have a ways to go, but felt so good to drive her again. Not sure how to post videos on here without downloading to YouTube first. But here’s some pics. I’ll post some after we get back from camping. (Last pics of my son helping install the X-over steering)

Camping trip success! Didn’t get too crazy as I didn’t have the front shaft hooked up yet. Rides great, steering has zero play in it! And turns sharper than it did with 35s before. Super happy with how solid this truck feels and how well it rides. It made our weekend pretty awesome to have the blazer back. Let my stepson and daughter drive it a bit. we had a lot of fun.
I also finally got the soft top installed that I bought from @83ChevyK5Blazer a year and a half ago!!
Found a nice parts truck and scored a nice grill for the blazer and made a deal for other body parts to go on my sons truck.
Still need to finish welding exhaust. It’s just tacked together. And start on bed lining the tub. It’s slowly coming together.
Only issues I’ve had are the new front output shaft seal is leaking a little. Gonna have to redo that. The other issue Is tryin to figure out how to fix my gauges. Speedo works, Tach works and then doesn’t sometimes, same with voltmeter. But fuel and temp gauge are dead. I replaced the sending unit and the wire that goes from the firewall to the sending unit on tank. Still nothing. Could it be the board on the cluster? Anyone have same issues with an easy fix?

Never mind. Found the fuel gauge issue after I pulled the column. Got me a temp fix till new circuit panel comes in. I’m not sure what’s up with temp gauge yet.

solder the wire in and be done . i use to fix computer boards with a paper clip and some 60/40 rosin core solder all the time on a burnt or snapped run .

Happened on my freightliner.
5 years before I realized my ground wasn't hooked to the engine when I couldn't start it after engine mounts replacement. That was a learning experience for me.

Will do!! I guess I need to see what’s up with the temp sensor first.

Windows on softtopper were a bit cloudy and hazed. Lookin like the lungs of Cheech and Chong. Can’t see anything other than just knowing it was daylight outside.
Got some Meguiars plastic polish and a power ball. Was able to get it to where I can make out objects out the windows now. Back window is a little more stubborn. I’ve passed over the windows multiple times now and no more change. Anyone have any other ideas or any experience polishing this windows? I used it on the lens cover for the gauges, huge difference....oh and got some poser shots out by my house cuz I’m just waiting for the weekend to get here! Figured out my right inner seal on my D60 needs to be replaced too,......guess I need to save up for the spartan and 4.88s and do all at same time.

Not much to update on the blazer last few weeks, it’s been solid! Suspension Rides a lot better, feels great driving down the road. Just had a fuel pump crap out on me about a mile from my house (easy roadside fix), been driving it everyday, I love driving it over my duramax. Lol. Been making my daughter learn how to drive standard. Overall happy to have it back on the road, next project I’m gonna start is raptor lining the interior.
Just need to get some more power out of my 305, but prob gonna be better to put a new motor then put money into this block. Haven’t been able to save up for new gears yet because I keep finding deals on marketplace!! Dammit. I’ve picked up 3 more squares, now I need to decide which one to use as a build for my son. He’s gonna be 11 next month and goin into mid school. I wanna start now so it’s ready by the time He’s in high school.
77 k10 shortbed 4 speed, problem is no title. But I’m kinda leaning towards this one as the build. E4C78580-722A-46F8-AEA2-7E9E207BF9FD.jpeg

Also picked up a 86 3/4ton longbed and a 77 2wd longbed. Both with titles. Couldn’t pass em up. So I’m debating between the 77 with no title or the 86, but he wants a shortbed. Lol. Maybe cab and axle swap. Idk. The frame is nice on the 86 too. Decisions decisions,.....

I haven’t done a lot on the blazer last few weeks as my time has been dedicated to my stepsons truck. I need to update his build too. Lol. New fenders, doors, grill, bezels, a hood, sliding rear window and new weatherstripping in doors and door panels. Oh and Our plastidip paint job. Lol. Cheap paint job as hes 16 and there’s gonna be a lot more scratches on this truck over next couple years. thought I’d share some pics on that too.

Oh and I scored huge today!!! Found a holley truck carb on marketplace to replace my edelbrock, drove about an hour to get it,....pull up to his house and learn that he just moved here from California and parted a K5 crawler he had......worked out a sweet deal and got some 2” Tuff country 52s. DIY4X HD shackles, a set of Tuff country shocks (11”and 14” i think), cb Radio,.......and Tom woods front shaft and rear CV shaft with flange adapter!!!! What a start to my sons build!! While I was in that town, a friend gave me a hood for that 86 as well. Great day today!
Also, I need some advice on my front flange,....it’s from HAD. It looks like it’s gonna hit the crossmember once I put the shaft on, am I overthinking this or do I just need to space the crossmember bushing to Tcase??
