My build-DOWN thread...

I ordered all this stuff for my floor. Ima sandblast as much as possible, but that eastwoods fast etch is supposed to be an acid based rust desolver. Ima try it out tommorow and see how it works. Ill letcha know :waytogo: I thinnk it was $26 for the gallon.

And we use that CLR at work for plumbing stuff, its pretty corrosive stuff, I know if you put it in a toilet it will eat the "Glazing" off... :eek1:

And idk how much you got but I thought it was pretty pricy stuff, I could be wrong though.
 
Well along with the clr stuff I managed to get plenty of other stuff done also. Got the computer mounted and disguised, mounted the new all port and fuel pump relay. Also took care of all the loose ends in and under the dash. Then i gave it a scrub to get rid of the residue and stuff from the clr process.

Going to get a hair cut today and if there is time after that I'm going to go see how busy dmv is and get some tags! If stuff don't go right I'll have to wait until Thursday. Wither way, It's getting close to having this thing back on the road!
 
Yea im going to get them next week. Monday, wednesday, or thursday. Reamains to be seen but one way or another! Next week, a 5.3 powered burb will be roaming the streets of Portland!
 
I saw one today and thought about your burb...this one was close to same color but nowhere near as nice. It's weird, now that I own a square body I notice every one that I see...but older burbs are not plentiful around here...

I don't think you have that big of an issue. I know mine is pretty much dead on but the condensation from the tail pipe is still dark.

Here in Cali they are a dime a dozen. Sq body trucks, burbs, K5's are everywhere here in Los Angeles. Very low or no rust rigs too. :pimp:
 
I know i dont have an issue any more! THat was with the the old tbi 350. I yanked it in favor of a 5.3.

Face off! Pulled the grill to remove the oil cooler that's no longer being used. While I had it out I figured I would hose off the ac condenser and core support of all the grime and bug guts.

Just took it for a test drive around the block. Just a few miles worth. But all was well! With the exception of the steering being ultra crappy... But it has been that way for a while. Just worse now that i stole its xj shaft for the blazer. Gotta get a new one of those and do a couple other things and then it'll be right as rain!
 
Also im convinced that the tune i have is all wrong. When plugged into the scanner i notice a few things that scream bad tune. Really want to send the computer to someone else (or figure out an affordable program for me to tune it myself). Im fairly certain that its running way too rich at WOT.
