My build-DOWN thread...

Also in just noticed how similar our avatars are! But while yours is warm and toasty, mine is cold and icy.

Yeah I thought that was funny, similar but very different.

Post up pics of the steering rebuild, I've never had one of those apart. I'd like to see that.

There is a few of them on the interwebs that in will be following as guides. I might look into changing my avatar again so as to make it a little more distinguishable from yours.

Got the motor pretty much ready to swap into the pickup I'm working on for Pinsco63. Once it's in and running I can finally get back to the burb!

Finally got the 72 running with Pinsco63. This weekend the 72 will be out of the garage and the burb is coming in. First Item of business is the biggest one, re-wiring the engine.

Here is a pic of the 72 after its first run.

Thanks! Yea, burb has sat dormant for the past like 3 months? Or more? So now it's taking center stage and will hold center stage until it's "done".

For sure! I think the wiring will take probably a month or there abouts. I THINK by the end of summer it will be road trip worthy, but still not quite "done".

I'm not looking forward to wiring up mine just because of the way I want it done.

At least you set a reasonable completion date. :doah:

Got the burb in the garage finally! Rewiring should probably take about a month. I'll update as I go.

The engine. When i bought the engine the guy already had the harness modified. At the time I thought it was great. Knowing what I know now, it's a little more hack than I would like for a 3000 mile trip. Its nothing too bad, but how there is only one relay powering everything including the fuel pump, and only one fuse on the entire system. And I did take a couple short cuts to get it running that are still in existence like just using a normal cheap butt connector with no shrink sleeve for the starter wire. A bunch of little things that leave me without a peaceful feeling about the engine wiring.

So I'm going to pull it all back out. And I'm going to mount the ecm under the hood instead of under the dash like is now. Its really just too big to fit nicely under the dash and it doesn't need to he there and makes things more of a pain. So I will be wiring it all up proper, and will need to lengthen and shorten certain wires I'm sure. As well as just re routing everything.
