My Build UPDATE---lots of pictures--2/1/2010

Finally a nice warm sunny day. So I got to uncover the truck and mess around a little today. It was my first real try at patching the holes where I cut out the rust. It's not the cleanest job in the world but for my first attempt I was happy how it turned out. I'm sure the other side will look alot better than these first couple:haha:.

Wait till you have a 10lb spool do it:mad: I lost half the damn thing because it was so tangled.

keep it up! you got the boggers on rims yet?
I was suppose to but no not yet:mad:. My current truck ate up some funds so this one was put on the back burner for a while.

Had some time to putter around so I finished all the patch work on the body and floor. Back in this thread are pictures of the rust and the holes I made cutting it out, also alot of build pictures are in my webshots link in my signature.

and I know these aren't the prettiest welds but I couldn't get this weird tar crap off the under side of the truck so I just let it catch fire while I preceded to weld over it. They hold and are water tight so there.....and heck they're under the truck:p:

The big brown santa clause brought me 4 packages today.:D:D
MRW wheels---15x10 Extreme Duty 36 bolt beadlocks with 2.5in backspacing. I can't wait to get the boggers mounted and see what they look like. Hopefully that'll get done tomorrow.

Spent yesterday morning getting the 2 rears mounted and put on.:doah: about half way through the first wheel I wish I had got the 15 bolt ones:haha::haha:
I'll mount the others today but I still have a few things to get done on the 60 before it goes under the truck.

For eveyone looking for "what does xx backspacing look like" This is a SRW 14bolt with a 39.5x18x15 bogger on a 15x10 wheel with 2.5in of backspacing. The truck has 6in springs and a 2in body and the fenders have not been cut yet.

damm, that thing is going to be huge!!! I can't wait till that beast is done... I can already see that thing rippin it up at azusa :D

they're listed at 249.95 a wheel on the site. And thats the wheel, ring, and all the bolts, plus they will do any backspacing. However, If you're interested in their wheels make sure you call and talk to them rather than just do an internet order. It will greatly payoff in the end.

:eek1: :eek1: :eek1: that must of dented your piggy bank..... then again your building a truck.....

yeah it wasn't a cheap purchase but oh well I splurged. I have a friend running them and he loves them and he's never had any problems with them. Also they have a replacement deal where if the wheel becomes unusable you can have it replaced for a cheaper price than buying a new wheel.

alot....

just the rough list is:
motor
build the trans
steering
35spline conversion with slugs
wiring
gears
driveshafts
cage
fuel cell
seats
dash
bumpers
paint

Beadlocks are fun. I had my wife do all the bolt tightening. I went with Walkers though.
